If it was the Tacoma the truck would have been taken and I'd have no idea till I tried to leave.

It’s finally here, the update I’ve most anticipated since ordering the car, enabling the matrix LED adaptive headlights in update 2024.20:
    https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/2...urves-adds-supercharger-leaderboards-and-more

Tesla had started installing matrix LED adaptive headlights in the US before the technology was legal for use and just had them disabled. In Feb 2022 that changed when NHTSA approved their use, its then just been a waiting game for the software update to enable the functionality, and now it’s here.

I thought this wasn't the full functionality we were hoping for. Just does corner stuff and a different pattern on highway. I didn't see that it activly shadowed out oncoming traffic. I'll still take it but I want the full deal even if it's not technically approved.

Reading the actual Tesla tweet, it looks like you are correct. Curve adaptation only for the US at this time.:pout:

I attempted to make a video demonstrating the matrix curve adaption shown against a garage door at moderate distance. Unfortunately it was hardly noticeable. A few degrees plays out more over distance but even so this seems like hardly an upgrade over fixed beam unfortunately.

Is this the first time the matrix lights have done anything? I've watched a couple of Youtubes and it doesn't look like much on them either. What will be cool is when/if the matrix dims sections of the light so not to blind oncoming drivers.

Biggest drawback of the new faster model 3 performance is the loss of the stalks. Fear not.
    https://www.autoevolution.com/news/you-ll-soon-be-able-to-buy-aftermarket-stalks-for-the-refreshed-tesla-model-3-235768.html

Full replacement required. Sigh. Then they replaced it with the wrong Pirelli Pzero, it was an all-season and not the summer performance. New tire should be in within 1-2 days. Fortunately I have a matching set of wheels with winter tires, so rocking a winter unit as a spare.

Why not try a simple tire plug? Yea it's close to the sidewall but honestly it would probably be fine. Especially since you can see it's going in straight and not pointed over to the side.
We've saved hundreds of tires that the chain stores wouldn't touch. We use rubber cement as the lube to help the plug slide in, carefully trim the excess with a razor blade, then "cauterize" it by lighting it on fire for about 15-20 seconds. It cooks down and gets hard, seals up perfect. No big deal..

The picture is a bit deceptive, the nail is directly aimed at the sidewall. Tire shop said nope. I’m not a repair expert nor do I have the time to shop around multiple shops for repair. So new tire it is.

Another cross state trip with unlimited free charging. 104 degrees and the batteries are primed for max discharge making the car whicked fast, and while parked cabin overheat protection keeps the car cool at all times. Nearby forest fires decreased the AQI numbers, but Tesla’s Bio Weapons Defense Mode makes the cabin an air quality a paradise. Once you know, you know.

Had some entertaining run-ins with the locals on the EV front in a very red county. Not sure why some people feel so threatened by new technology.

Two reasons, first their faux news has told them what to think. (and I'll leave it at that) Second some people are actively opposed to any change regardless of which news channel they watch. I feel sorry for both groups because EV's are freaking awesome.

Some people think you're a freeloader not paying taxes. Some think you threaten to take their gas away. The list goes on and on.

First one I’ve seen in the wild. Talked to the owner who had a 22 M3P before it, says highway top end pulls substantially harder.

Included for 4 months free. I’m not paying $8k for it. At a $99/month subscription for FSD it would take nearly 80+ months to break even. Unless you keep the car for nearly 7 years or more, you’re better off subscribing, and that isn’t factoring the time value of money. You can’t transfer it to a new car, so if you sell before that nearly 7 year mark you’ve lost money vs subscribing. FSD is pretty cool, but the included autopilot is plenty for myself. I didn’t buy a fast car for it to drive me.
