Yeah, nice to have all the options, but really not needed. I do use the mobile charger a decent amount when visiting family on overnight trips. I just leave it all in the car since it has so much cargo space.

Such strange behavior, I see it often too. ICE owners feeling threatened by EVs? Copper thieves? Much more common at non-Tesla chargers since Tesla keeps things in operating shape and likely makes repairs quickly. Bummer on the Leaf, the Ioniq 5 is very popular.

Just today. I didn't need to charge at all but figured I'd take the EV space while parking was scarce and the charger was out of order due to being vandalized.

Tesla has quietly added the ability for L2 destination chargers to auto bill through the car exactly like superchargers. I only noticed as I saw a notification on my phone that the car was now charging at $0.25/kWh, which I had missed the day before and was surprised to find charges from Tesla on behalf of Marriott on my card. Cost is trivial for the convenience, but annoyed on the lack of transparency.

Sold the Tesla weeks ago. It was killed by a 30 year old legendary sports coupe.

Test drove an e36 Euro import M3 manual (different drivetrain than the US M3). Obviously not nearly as quick as the Tesla 3 performance, but this car was more engaging in every regard and really brought me back to my roots as a euro performance car enthusiast, leading me to question the EV route. I also test drove the e46 M3 and was utterly disappointed for it being an iconic halo car, the e36 Euro M3 was so much better. This import was over-priced so I did not buy it, but I immediately knew what had to be done. Going to hit pause for a bit on another vehicle purchases but then coming back to the mid-90s-early 2000s euro cars. In the mean time, the Tacoma will get extra love.

I don't know what to say, I thought it was EV for you going forward.
What other euro vehicles of this era are you considering?

Don't get me wrong, I think EVs are great and fully believe they are the future as much as some may dislike it. I'd even go as far to say that the Model 3 Performance was nearly a perfect car from a practicality and performance standpoint.

In the greater Seattle area Teslas are the most common vehicle by far, the roadways are seas of Teslas and it all looks the same. Prior to my decade and a half of Toyota trucks, I was a Euro performance car enthusiast. This isn't a shift away from Tesla/EV, it is a shift away from modern cars in general. I feel more connection with analog gauges, no screens and a manual stick in my hand with an older unique car, and I want the more raw experience than an insulated and electronic one that modern cars provide.

Current considerations are e36 M3 (euro preferred or US + boost) or B5 S4 with an RS4 conversion. The BMW is attractive because in that era BMW subscribed to the textbook example of perfect engineering design, I6 manual RWD with 50/50 weight distribution while being light weight, in the later Euro cars beating the ideal 10:1 hp ratio. Audi does not have the engineering beauty. It does have the legendary Quattro AWD with the forged 2.7T capable of massive hp and beyond absurd torque off the line in a compact lightweight size, and better build quality than BMW. TBD, going to sit on the next purchase till at least the new year. Lost way too much on the last 3 financial dumpster fires.

I was going to suggest a return to B5 S4

I think you'll end up missing the Tesla. Just some things about it are hard to let go, but I get it!
