Clearly it is being used in the sand all over the place however, is it working in the mud? Does anyone have an experience of attempting this in mud?

For a quick response on that mud is something you don't know what underneath it, hard bottom, rocky bottom or soaked chalice, or more deep mud. Mud is very subjective, by parts of the country, type of mud, how deep ....etc ....I wouldn't use crawl control in the mud unless I knew what my front tires were lined up and ready to get into...I would rather use 4 hi or 4 lo depending again on what your getting into and use my throttle to muster me through.....better have some good tires as well...

Crawl Control is not really your best friend for Mud or Snow

Usually for mud, the right speed is your friend. Speeds as low as crawl control will most likely get you nowhere.
