I just purchased a 2021 SR5 with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The rear cross traffic alert sound is so low (and from the back of the cab) that I can barely hear it, and not at all if the radio is up. Is there any way to increase the volume? Or a hack to fix it? In my Honda CRV, it is integrated into the audio system and really screams at you.

Is there an option in the head unit in settings?

Curious about this too. My problem is mainly my ears though.

Same issue, wish i could turn it up a bit louder. I searched through the manual and dash settings and I don't think the option is available.

Yep double checked, that setting does not exist in my head unit or dash settings, must have been on older headunits.

I had searched for BSM and you wanted cross traffic settings so that was wrong regardless sorry. I did find another link that doesn't really say how, but does say you can change it:https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-alerty-i-want-to-increase-the-volume.563432/

I wonder if there's a setting in techstream, but you'd need a laptop and software for that. If you're in Oklahoma City I'd be happy to hook my laptop up and take a look. I take milksteak as payment, extra jellybeans please.

Ah another classy milksteak lover lol. But yeah BSM and RCTA are different, I don't have any settings options for either unfortunately even though I have both, and im not making my way to OK any time soon but thanks.

Is Techstream simple enough to use/set up? I'm tech savvy myself

I don't have entune installed, just been using carplay since day 1. Are more settings available if I do install? Seems silly to require that

I just know I have seen it on other toyota models. I dont have entune and can hear the RCTA fine so I havent looked further. I did see somewhere that Techstream cant be used to adjust it. Again this was not a tacoma. I wonder how hard it would be to just swap in a bigger speaker? It is under the rear seats i think.

You'll need an obdii adapter, but this link should have the info you need: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/techstream-tips-and-tricks.597998/

I've had the rear panel and side panels out on my Access Cab and I believe the annunciator is behind the left side panel, no speaker per say.

I don't hear it either it does blink on the side mirrors. Sometimes the BM does not work at all when I back into the carport and I am close to the wall nothing happens no lights or beeps. Maybe it is a malfunction. Really don't care and think it is a useless option.
