Got mine installed about a week ago. I ran mine like the others did, from the mirror along the top edge of the door to the upper corner, under the existing weather stripping. BUT, I used the left overs and ran some along the vertical seem between the front and rear doors, then again for the rear door. This has made a huge difference in wind noise! The truck also sounds, idk, more solid when you shut the door.

A tip, if you plan on running some on the vertical seem: warm up the adhesive on the weather stripping before applying for a better seal. Especially if it is cold outside when you do it. Also clean the metal before applying.

I have extra from when I did mine. I’m going to try the additional strip in between the doors as well.

Y’all are all brilliant. I’ve been living with this for five years and could never figure it out. Got some 3/8ths foam tape and put it in the weather stripping. So far so good

Hi, Its hard to tell in the picture but did you run this seal under the factory seal. I am getting wind noise in my access cab just behind the drivers door, not sure if it the rear door or drivers door or both. Thanks

Ya, I ran the new stuff under the old liner. Along the top, from the top-corner edge, down to the the mirror. Someone else posted a photo of that somewhere in this thread.

Did this mod on Friday. After doing it I was cleaning the interior and while wiping down the door panels I noticed "water trails" for lack of a better term on the very front edge of the plastic where rain water must have gotten past the seals. Hoping this will kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Got mine from lowes for 8.00 and it works. 20 mph winds and going 90 and no more kazoo. I love my truck again. I can't believe that Toyota will not fix this problem.

I had one the local scummy dealers put on my tsb. It has worked. No more kazoo noises.
They did argue about it but I took the master mechanic for a drive into the canyon and it
did it's kazoo noise. They has to order the parts twice because they lost the order the first time.

I'll try one of these EPDM or D-Shaped Trim lok options - don't bother with 1/4" foam backer rod, doesn't work at all.

Not that they care for out of warranty issues that aren't related to safety, but I gave Toyota a 1 on door seal (and also radio and HVAC blower) quality when they sent me that Customer Satisfaction survey, and wrote up a objective problem description of this door seal.

About to tackle this on the next warm day after living with the kazoo for 5 years. One of the linked seals is almost 17 bucks and the other one is 8. The dimensions are comparable (.437 x .375 and .312 x .359). Is one better than the other? Or is the price difference just the extra 8 feet of stripping?

I put mine between the seal on the door itself. I went almost all the way around both front doors. 8 bucks at lowes and it worked.

Update: did this 2 days ago. Have driven highway speed both days into 15-20 mph gusts and not a peep. Can't believe only 8 dollars and 5 minutes of my time cured this headache. Thanks to all who posted pics and links!

Update x2: We had a storm blow in with 30+ mph gusts. Highway speed into the wind did create some kazoo, but that is also an extreme, unusual circumstance.

Used the linked Amazon stuff and ran it behind the door weather seal as shown in this thread. Used the leftover and ran another strip on the body side along the top of the door as well. Seems much quieter.

Just did this today, both behind the door seal and a strip along the inside of the door along the top like the picture above. Hope this fixes the problem, as it has annoyed me for years. Now to plan a trip to Mammoth Mountain for some snowboarding, as it always screams like crazy outside of Mojave, headed up towards Red Rock. Crazy cross winds up there.

Tried the DIY fix. This helped but not completely. My 2015 is a certified pre-owned so I will be discussing the TSB with the dealer.

    Nice job guys!
I’m gonna tackle this soon. For those of you who posted the links, what size did you use. Some of the links show different size options.

The Lowes link does show the size.

    Thank you.

I originally used the drip line method to cure the kazoo noise. It worked at first but eventually came back pretty regularly. I then upgraded to the TSB weather stripping and no more kazoo noise, not once since the replacement. I would recommend just getting the actual TSB weatherstripping. It’s not cheap but it works.
