Would anyone know why my cruise control will work sometimes only? If I can get it to engage it'll work, but after a few days it won't work.
Once I press my cruise control it won't appear on my dash until I continuously keep going at it, sometimes it won't even appear on my dash. Most times I just give up and drive without it. But would like to have it engage when I want it to for longer drives.

Mine did the same until it stopped working completely. It was what's called the Clock Spring. Have to remove steering wheel and air bag connections to get to the unit. I got an aftermarket through Amazon. Check Youtube. Not too difficult but have to follow directions carefully to engage the device properly.

Air bag light on? Mine stopped working for a day, but started working again and has been working ever since. I ordered a clock spring and will replace it when I get a moment.

There is a recall on clocksprings. Have y'alls been replaced already by Toyota? Haven't had mine done yet because no symptoms. Agree swapping it is simple. May just buy one and do it myself when time comes. Not worth having dealership fuck with my truck. Have swapped out my whole steering wheel so it isn't any big deal to do.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll have to check that out. And my airbag light isn't on. My cruise will engage from time to time. I just don't want to constantly press my cruise control while driving down the highway to get it to engage, so I just give up after a min or do. if I go at it once in a while I'll get it to work

I think he means the air bag light may come on after you install the spring. It's a common symptom, especially with cheap aftermarket ones, but may be worth it as new ones run $200+; aftermarket run less than $35. My light is on. Appears the weird snap-in connections for the air bag have not engaged properly.

When your clock spring starts to fail usually it's the air bag light that illuminates first, followed by cruise control failing, horn failing.
