You can fit two beer cans in each while you're tailgating, or at the beach. That's about all I've been able to do with them.

Toyota put them there so people would go onto toyota forums and ask what they are there for. :)

Ammo, smokes, its a handy place for your cell phone when you're fishing off the tailgate and back into the lake to play truck boat. Or you could go back a few years and use it for a cubby's intended purpose, to hold your trapper keeper and snacks.

Now the real question is, what is the little pull out tray down and to the left of the steering wheel slightly underneath the dashboard for?

That's for my subwoofer power switch, and Subway punch card. It's in the owner's manual.

Its to remind us that the bed could have been 6 inches wider. But neato storage compartements and 400w outlets sell trucks I guess...

Seems beer caps, work gloves, or muddy socks are usually in there.

If you remove them any stuff you put in there will end up on the ground. The bed sides are not sealed.

As for the little door to the left of the steering wheel....great place for the garage door opener.

I saw somebody using the holes above the wheel wells for a board for a divider (the board is just slightly longer than the bed is wide so you slide it in one side and "lock" it in by sliding it into the other). I can't really explain it in words, but it actually worked.

As for the little pocket to the left of the steering wheel...that's for my gun club access pass.

I have seen where people put lights in there. The sad thing is if you store anything in them then someone walking by could just take it. Unless there is a hidden Toyota reason, they are just a waste of space.
