Very nice reading here. I'm almost two years into Tacownership. I plan to keep it a long time. If/when I finally replace it, I'm eyeing that 10-gear, twin turbo V6 Raptor.

I also have a Raptor I ordered a 2017 Pro should be here next month. I am done with a full size rig, I love the power but I need to slow down. I also have a 71 Ford Bronco so I still have that V8 power to play with.

You deleted what you wrote? I am not supercharging my truck. I don't like parasitic power adders just my preference. I am going to try to do a twin turbo set up. Here is a video showing Toyota's new 1.2 turbo Atkinson cycle engine.

I made the switch from a 2012 Raptor to a 2014 Tacoma. You will need some aftermarket mods to get the Tacoma to compare to the raptor (in terms of off road capability) but I haven't had any regrets since I made the switch. My raptor was getting 12mpg freeway...and back then I was filling up a 30-something gallon tank with $135. There are times I miss the raptor, then I think about the price to fill up and how much it could potentially cost to replace parts on the raptor, and the feeling is gone. Overall I guess it depends on if you really need a full size raptor, the Tacoma was plenty for my needs..and I haven't had any regrets making the switch

If I had the means, I would get the 2017 Raptor in a heartbeat. Not sure what it is but the current body style F150 just does it for me and the Raptor is over the top

If you heard it in person you probably wouldn't. That V6 Ecoboost sounds like shit especially at high RPMs. The day they bring the V8 back I'll will be one of the first in line to get one until then I'll just dump money into the Taco and my wife's '13 Raptor

To be honest, I like the ecoboosts. I've heard a couple with exhaust, intake and a tune and they don't sound too bad... Gotta love the turbo whistle. Tuned correctly, they can definitely be beasts and the new one they're throwing in the Raptor is supposed to make more power and torque than the V8 in a truck that's lighter than the older Raptor... That thing should fly!
