I gues too each his own. My personal opinion when I saw it at the Texas Raptor Run this year running, it sounded like a wide open lawnmower. A huge group of people expected a ton more from it that day and were immediately turned off that day. I don't mind the Ecoboost engine I've had one, and a year later I traded it in for the 6.2L V8. As for the power and torque, I hear what everyone is saying about how it makes more power, but slap the same set up the ecoboost has which are a set of twin turbos on the V8 and you'll easily surpass the ecoboost. I personally see it as a gimmick that for has to try to sell the Raptor name while cutting manufacturing cost substantially to increase profit margins. This is the truck I used to own before the Raptor.IMAG1316.jpg and incase you want to hear the 2017 Raptor this is the best video I could find. Ford did not allow video taping of the new Raptor at TRR and I am guessing were this video was taken too. Guess they don't want people pulling deposits.

Anything sounds better than a Gen-3 Taco with an exhaust upgrade.

Well obviously a twin turbo V8 spanks the tt V6... how much does that cost though. I'll have to check out your video later when I'm not at work... I'm curious how it sounds.

Haha, this is true. If the exhaust note is really important to you, don't get a Tacoma

Twin turbo set up is $10k plus install was originally $9k, but the guys I use went to better and bigger turbos so they had to up the price.

Yes and no, to me there is a sound for every vehicle. It's kind of like dressing your truck in acoustics. How subtle or obnoxious is up to you. I haven't found the right sound I like for my truck just yet, so I am staying factory. Maybe after a twin turbo set up I won't have a choice but to upgrade, but until then I'll keep my ears open lol.

I guess, for me, exhaust note is an afterthought considering the geometry, aesthetics, technology and total package of a caliber vehicle such as the Raptor. I mean, for example: during sex, I am not concerned in any way with the noises coming out of my mouth because my brain, hands and eyes are dealing with plenty enough as is.

To me every little detail has it's significance. Using your example of intimacy: Even if my hands, mouth, eyes, and nose are working at 110%. I can not shut down my primary senses which included hearing, examples would be hearing her moan, breath, and climax. To me it would be a killer to be half way through and hear a manly voice coming from what a perceive to be a woman (a sound that is out of place like the new Raptors exhaust). Some might like it, and some might not care about it, but to me you sit in a Ferrari and soak in everything from the smell of the leather to the style and lines of the dash, to the rumble of the engine. Guess I just look too much into the details.

Good to hear, that's about where I'm at these days. Love the Raptor but I just don't think I need the full size. I'm curious, were you able to drive a Pro before you ordered it?

Yeah, I seen some of there work. They build some nice trucks. I wonder what they could do with a Tacoma. Did you have anything done to you Raptor?

No, I've never been, looks to be a fun weekend though. Maybe Don Henley will be there, since he's from Gilmer. ;-)
