I know it's still a little early for winter tires but I wanted to get off the stock shopping cart wheels.

I didn't purposely set out to get this particular set, or style of rims - these are shown on the manufacturer website as being used on low-slung sporty things with low profile tires, than my ugly duckling. I happened upon a deal, when i inconveniently realized that time had expired for my OEM Dunflops, and needed a new set of tires PDQ. A browse upon kijiji.ca (Ebay Classifieds for the Americans) found this set of 5 just around the corner with LT225/75/R16's already on them with better than 80% wear, for less cost than the tires. RTX Arsenic 16x7 aftermarket rims, with an offset of 40. They were originally on a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Although they are relatively skinny rubber, they were ideal for an immediate throw-on upgrade, as i hadn't yet done my level-lift. When the rubber wears out, I can replace with up to 265/75R16 rubbers, if i so wish. They've grown on me, and they look distinctive from the rest of the Tacoma herd.

It does look distinctive, but it still looks good! Any plans on moving to a more thicker tread; such as Duratracs or KO's?

When they wear out, I'll look at more aggressive tread block patterns. I'm a cheap bastid in that way.

I am actually eyeballing LT235/75R15 Duratrac's at the moment, for winter/snow tires on my stock steelies. I need to do that first and foremost, before the winter hits. These aftermarket rims definitely won't stand up well to our road-salt encrusted winter environment.

Yup I did add the TRD bilsteins in the back but that only made it stiff not raise it.

They were a bit hard to put in since its 3in longer but it was definitely worth it.
