@seelyartacus I'm starting to look at a full floating rear end now since I'm doing the full front and rear L/T setup, so may as well get it all done at once right?

How much did you shell out for that rear end, and how long did it take to get it/where did you get it from?

it was pricey and it's not a full floater. I got it direct from Currie, but it was one of their first as a drop in and it turned into a headache. I know Camburg is doing one or will. I can get some info for you on theirs if you'd like (they're local).

That would be awesome. I was talking to Harry at JD Fab and he sold me on the idea of a full floater and made it sounds like the F9 was in that category.

I wish I had a full floater now, but it might be overkill for my application. I couldn't find the F9 on currie's site anymore, but mine is def semi-floater

Are there any issues with ABS or engine codes? Does the currie rear use tacoma style ends retaining the magnetic bearing for the abs sensor?

Looks like it! Probably going this route once I save up a couple sheckles, either that or figure out another way to keep the abs sensors since I have a 3rd gen and it freeks without them.

Currie no longer makes that rear end.....I called them. You are going to have to figure out another solution. My take is that if you are looking to do this with your truck you should be willing to punt the ABS system as it trys to kill you offroad anyways. Being 2wd I had to find a solution to losing my speedo if I ditched the rear wheel speed sensors. I have found the solution to the speedometer issue and am now going with a custom full float 9 inch rear end from JDfab. I'll be losing ABS but its more of an annoyance than help with all the mods done to my truck...hell it likes to engage just getting onto freeways on the curving onramps. No amount of VSC calibration has made that go away. I have finally come around to believing that swapping a semi float rear for another semi float rear for the sake of saving the ABS system is just foolish. Getting a stronger diff just moves the possible breakage to another component....would that be the axle..I have no idea but if it is then you are losing the whole tire at speed in the desert....not a good situation. On top of the fact that you now have a busted custom made axle that may take forever to have remade to get your truck up and running again. I can go on forever here but i am a true beliver that a full float (non unit bearing) axle assembly is the way to go and it ist really all that expensive considering what i've already spent on my truck.

Yeah 2nd gens vsc/abs is insanely touchy compaired to the 3rd gens in my opinion. At least with my truck/weight/tires, it take a lot to get them to roast enough for abs to come on unless I'm purposely doing it.

And 3rd gen life, still trying to figure out everything to keep all the dash lights off/speedo working/all the other hoobla that operates off a couple little wheel sensors. Might brainstorm around with a ff lc 9.5", although I would rather a 9" for popularity/support
