Just a heads up, the first post has inventory posted up ... but I will be going dark for 2 weeks starting this weds. I can ship the knobs for sale in the OP within a day, but after weds it'll be a bit of a wait.

    It's complicated.
I need that specific setup/config. Which one is it?

    Thanks!

There are 4 of them for sale right now (first post, left side back row in the top picture). Those are V2's. In the posts you quoted one has an aluminum boot collar and the other has a black delrin boot collar.

There are so many people asking me the same questions, makes me wonder if I need to re-think the information and layout in the first post.

Serious question, maybe I need fresh eyes ... but is the first post (and links within) just leading to confusion? Or, or y'all mofos just going ("Gah, fuck ... TL;DR").

    It's complicated.
Only speaking for myself... I looked at the first page, and read & re-read through that and many of the subsequent pages, but I was still confused for several reasons.

    1. You have a multitude of choices, but I didn't know where to start.
    2. My truck is AT, but I would like the design shown in the posts I quoted--which your page 1 has listed as MT, so I didn't know if that was a functional specification or if you meant that the engraved design was MT.
    3. I don't know if I need/want an aluminum collar vs. black delrin (perhaps I didn't read your page 1 sufficiently?)
    4. From your page 1, it looks like I am asking for the 8A ?

I'll go back and read more. I just don't want to inadvertently place an order for the wrong item &/or design.

    Thanks.

    1. Unless we dive unnecessarily deep into semantics, there are only two choices right now. Black delrin w/ hybrid core or solid aluminum with delrin ring, and they are both options for either AT or MT.
    2. I did not see that coming, just figured you had an MT considering you quoted two MT knobs.
    3. There is no right or wrong answer here, delrin or aluminum boot collar is your choice as it does not affect the final price. I generally default to delrin collars for knobs with delrin ring, and default to aluminum collars for solid aluminum knobs that do not have a delrin ring. Unless of course preference is specified by the buyer.
    4. 8A, yes. Pocketed version (this is a question I always ask before taking the order).

But now I am faced with the ethical dilemma of putting an MT shift pattern on an AT knob.

    Well played, sir.

Does it help that I came from a 1992 XtraCab Pickup w/ 5 speed MT and no A/C? :)

Every time I see one of these out in the wild they just remind me so much of Tonka trucks from when I was little. I'd love to find a nice 1st gen eventually.

I'd still have it if cancer hadn't taken it. That picture was from 2008 I think, and how I like to remember it. That is the only reason I got rid of it, didn't have the time to work on the rust ... figured I could let somebody else enjoy it instead of letting it continue to rot in my driveway. My neighbor 3 houses down restored it and shipped it down to Mexico for his Son.

How far down the shaft/threads should it go before it stops. I installed mine and my boot is tight when the truck is in park. I replaced the zip tie in the same spot as the factory was, and it's a lot tighter. So only thing I can think is its not threaded on enough?

The V2 AT hybrids will be about 8-10 full turns before it stops.

Sometimes I put too much anti-seize lube down there, which creates an air tight bubble that you will need to work out.

Screw it on/off a few times if that is the case, with light pressure (do not force it). If there is air trapped down there it'll make a popping/crackling noise as it escapes.

Curious if anyone else has had the knob come loose before? Its happened to me a couple times and I am thinking that I just havent torqued it down enough. If i do, the alignment is off enough to bother me. I suppose I just need to add some more plastic shims and then give 'er a good tightening?

Anyone added BLUE (not red) loctite? I have an aluminum knob w/ stainless core FYI.
