interesting. I wonder what a dyno run of this would look like compared to the 1/2 XTP spacer.

At twice the effective increase in plenum volume, flow and velocity...

...with less heat transfer to the upper manifold, I'd be willing to bet big that this will be superior.

There was a noticeably significant increase in low to mid range acceleration with this spacer.

The ones for the 2.7 was from a member here with a name like "tooter". His had dyno graphs and much easier to install in the 2.7. The 4.0 spacer popularity from years ago didn't really take off due to price and the minimal gains and intake manifold had to be removed to install. Popular manufacturer NST even stopped making them.

I've had just about every bolt-on N/A engine mod, plus more. My butt dyno says, this wins hands down.

If you try it and decide the improvement in acceleration is not worth the $225, I'll give you your money back. (I'll also know that there's either something seriously wrong with your truck or you're crazy.)

I've offered the money-back guarantee on my ported and polished parts in the past and not a single one has been returned. I wouldn't make such a statement if I wasn't supremely confident in it.

People who've had good intake manifold/plenum spacers (on any vehicle) won't find these claims too hard to swallow.

    Cool story bro.

You're right, there is a reason Toyota made the runners on the the upper manifold the length that they did. It could have been for overall efficiency, tooling, cross-fitment across various vehicles with similar engines, manufacturing cost, etc... it could have been a simple oversight even. That's why auto manufacturers have recalls and technical service bulletins.

One thing is for damn sure, they didn't decide on the runner lengths because it yielded maximum performance. Not even the Lexus LF-A was engineered and manufactured for 100% maximum performance. There are always compromises, otherwise there would be no profit margin and no aftermarket parts market.

I ended up making a 1" thick spacer based on past experience/knowledge and another reason that is pretty obvious to anyone who knows what they're looking at.

I believe if u don't believe sumthing don't look at it and don't start a problem.if u don't believe him ask him nice and politly to show his proof if he has any, if not accept his response and move on, I personally believe if the guy has the tools and knowledge to make the spacer he is perty damn smart and has obviously done his own trial and error [process, if you don't believe him don't stop by, move on to Toyotas part spend their ridiculous amount and just be happy. my opinion. have a great day.

If anybody is interested in educating themselves on the topic, I just found this article that uses simple English to demystify a lot of the proven principles behind intake manifold design and engineering.

    http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2008/02/intake-manifolds-from-mild-to-wild/

    This article explains why:

    - longer runners are beneficial

    - added intake plenum volume is beneficial

    - a thicker spacer will make more low-mid range power than a thinner one

    - lightweight plastic is better (both in weight savings and heat dissipation)
