Hey guys, I made something I thought was pretty cool. It’s a iPhone holder that uses the MagSafe magnets to hold the phone. It clips into and replaces the blank plate next to the vents on the driver side. I also made mine into a wireless charger as well that I can turn on and off using a switch I put into another blank plate area down below the ash trey. Pretty cool in my opinion because I’m yet to find a phone holder for our trucks that doesn’t obstruct the view or HVAC and also doesnt look like crap when the phone isn’t covering it up…

I’ll attach some photos of the install process and the final result :)

I’ve been using it for a while now and have been very happy with it :D

I could either upload how I did it if anyone is interested or I could sell them if some people would like that as well. Either way I hope you all enjoy!

Wow. That’s super similar! I had some issues with mine at first because the black PLA and sunlight didn’t get along , it kept pulling out of the dash. After some strengthening redesign it’s been working great! It’s really cool to see another yet practical mod for our trucks. Can’t beat TW.

I suggest PETG for anything going inside a vehicle. PLA can’t survive the temperature. The ones on Shapeways are made with laser sintered nylon, which is even more heat resistant.

Hello! Like you guy’s ideas. I just finished perfecting a ram mount clip for a first gen 2003 Tacoma. It goes where the air bag indicator would be, but there’s just a flat little cover there. I’ll attach some pics. I’m making them to sell so if you would like one just text me. 563-203-0952. Also feel free to share this as well!

Shapeways went out of business and I took down the file from thingiverse because I was reworking it to create and sell myself. If you're interested send me a PM and I can make you one.

I bought one from shapeways and either something is up with the way they printed it or the tolerances are just really tight. Mine falls out with the phone attached after going over bumps. It's a really good place to put a phone mount though. Had to switch to the dash bezel clamp version unfortunately

Does the clip come out of the dash or does the magsafe come out of the socket?

The whole clip, but I meant to reply about the blue Ram mount one above.

As far as I know, unless someone is using the file, I haven’t posted my model on shapeways…
