Supercharger Coolant Tanks 2nd run closed currently

remember its ideal to keep the tank at the high point in the system. so i understand.

 

yeah, just spitballing different ideas that may affect production.

 

Weld-in barbs - good.
Mounting bolts - metric not required. I know some people only add metric bolts to their rig, all my additions use SAE hardware. Assuming the bolts are loose (not welded on, acting like studs) it should not really matter.
Capacity - larger is always better. You are getting a large capacity increase for not much of a physical size increase. Good.

 

I'm trying to allow the reuse of factory hardware if possible but you're right, any appropriate sized hardware would work just so long as it matches the weld in threaded ports

 

That's not a bad idea.

I don't think I will be mounting mine in the factory location, which is why the bolt size does not matter to me.

Got ya down. I imagine this will be a limited one time run. I'll be making 10 of them OR if there are more interested by the time I order the rest of the parts that particular number. 10 will be the minimum number I'll be making though.

So I recently picked up a BendTech Dragon (CNC for pipe) Still learning how to use it some but I know it has the ability to etch. I was thinking we could etch something into the side of the cylinder such as the TRD logo or something similar.

 

Be careful with the TRD logo, and selling too many products.

They'll want their cut.

I don't remember the exact details of what amount draws their attention.

However, you could make a similar design which stood for Tacoman Racing Development.

 

Copyright infringement laws. I know a shop that got in trouble for cutting a punisher skull and you see those everywhere.

 

Yeah, I'm aware of that. There seems to be a a revenue amount that they care about though. A "few" custom ones, non advertised, they don't deem worthy and let it slide.

 

if it’s a low run any custom cuts? I have a taco TRD I made that would be cool to get added. either way excited to see the final product

I like where you're headed, Kel! Modest increase in size, reuse of factory hardware, and Tacoman Racing Development logo all sound good to me.

 

I've been quite here too so no worries Steve. I usually buy my metals by the trailer load and the 4" OD 6061 aluminum got left off on the last load even though I specifically mentioned it. It'll be on the next load for sure. Then I should have a few made up for us. Project is still on- just moving forward slowly.

Any chance you can work in some mounts so that it can be located elseware?

@White lightning boosted has his relocated and im thinking of doing the same. Also some options if folks were thinking of relocating.
