I received the wire I need to finish up harnesses for @ljh824, @RyanDCLB and @JJD92 today.

I also went to my first Jiu Jitsu class so I’m beat. And I have a 5am call tomorrow. So I hope to finish tomorrow night and ship out on Wednesday. I know it’s been a long wait.

Here is where Lou’s harness stands.

More progress on Lou’s harness. @Puppypunter how does it look? I think your relay is the last little cherry on top, unless you see something. The Y between input power, GEP and output feed could be a little cleaner but other than more tape I’m not sure what to do with that.

There's something to be said for some high-quality wiring. Quite...invigorating.

Working through a repeat of @ljh824’s harness, this time intended for @Zumozuzu7. Effectively exactly the same, just a different output connector and I’m still waiting to hear on whether I need a halogen DRL tap or LED DRL tap.

    Inventory:
    1. GEP 12 position enclosure
    2. Omron relays, one SPST and one SPDT
    3. Amp male 2 position DRL trigger 24”
    4. 14 gauge power input 36”
    5. 14 gauge 3 conductor output 84”
    6. 18 gauge LED trigger 84”
    7. Cargo rocker T harness with JAE switch plug for LED trigger

The @Zumozuzu7 harness is nearly done. I’m just waiting on some 10 gauge weatherpack terminals so I can marry up the output leads since we have to go 1x14 gauge to 2x16.

I’m going to start inventorying all the parts used, this one was a big one.

Hey Dave, I have enjoyed viewing your handiwork – keep up the good work!! I just upgraded to a 2019 TRD OR 4WD from a 2018 TRD OR 2WD. I had rapture lights on that vehicle. If I recall correctly, I did some sort of vampire tap into the purple & white wires on the side marker light to have them activate with the running lights or when the headlights were on. I want to add the same simple lights to the new truck but want to avoid these type of splicing connections on this truck. Do you have a plug-n-play harness with a 2-wire connection that I could attach the aforementioned rapture light to? Something similar to the picture but with a 2-wire "t" that would take the place of me hacking into the side marker wire & associated ground wire.

Do you have LED headlights or halogen.

I can do either but R4T also makes a DRL plug and play harness for halogen trucks.

I think the DRLs are LED but I’m pretty sure the headlights are H11 or H9 bulbs

Thank you. Do you know the brand - manufacturer of the waterproof connector is that they’re using?

Amp 2 pin female at the T, male on the light harness input. The white ones I don’t know but they sort of lock you in to those specific grille lights. The eBay ones I buy are amp on the light side too.

Amp pigtails are super easy to find on eBay. I include them with my stuff and two heat shrink solderless butt connectors (see photos above.)

Awesome thanks. One last question. Are the amp connectors difficult to unpin? I would want to re-pin the cable coming off of the raptor light harness to attach to the R4T harness.

So the ebay lights I have are bare wire. Photo of yours?

De-pinning a 2 pin male AMP I consider an act of congress (hard). Ironically, depinning the female is very straightforward. I suspect if I had a "just-right" tool maybe it'd be a different story? The R4T harness he gives you has the male on the 1-4 main trunk so de-pinning that would be the "hard" one. But if you're removing something which isn't an AMP to cut and pin to an AMP or just solder into the R4T you are going to cut off then that's easy.

De-pinning doesn't make any sense unless you intend to put on the same type of connector (say going 2-3 positions on an AMP or something). The terminals are specific to the connector so you can't really de-pin and change connector types, you have to cut off and re-crimp.

However, eBay has easy AMP pigtails which would eliminate any need to slice up the $49 R4T pieces.

Now, to the un-asked question of would I build these for people, I think the answer is I'm ok with it in small quantities if we don't undercut someone else. So, I'm OK selling OEM LED conversion harnesses at Mike's price of $85 if done in low numbers because I don't think that takes away from his business in any significant form. Similarly I'll do a DRL grille light harness for $49 since that shouldn't take any bite out of R4T's sales provided numbers are small. And for the stuff I'm making I can customize a little bit. So, say you wanted to send me your harness, I can build it clean for you and send it back ready to rock. Stuff like that probably makes some sense.

I just struggle with the ethics of selling something you can get elsewhere from a reputable vendor who does good work. If the only options were total garbage or extremely overpriced it might be one thing but anything in the reasonable price range and of good quality I don't want to undercut.

Also, I'm particularly sensitive since MESO had a hand in the design and Stewie does more in a day than I do in a year so I tread super lightly.

Hopefully that backstory adds some color?

I understand completely. That being said, I’d happily pay you $49 for a DRL grille light harness. The harness for the lights I will be using is just 2 wires - red & black. So, if the harness could include a pigtail for me to solder to my lights that would be great. Let me know if you’re comfortable with that.

    thanks Dave
