Oh also... I have the MESO HitchPod but I havent really figured out how I want to wire that. Cant decide if it should just be on a switch, tied into revers, tied into revers with a switch so its not always on in reverse. Interested in thoughts or ideas

The white light can be wired a few different ways. It could be put on an on/off switch, tied to the reverse lights, or an on/off/reverse switch where it gives you both options.
As to the ambers, do you want to be able to turn them on anytime in addition to having them function as turn signals?

I figured something like the cargo rocker for on / off / auto with auto being triggered by reverse.

If you throw a tennis ball over H2 you might hit Aunti Gerri’s house.

Let me know if the H9 connectors give you trouble. It takes a little bit of a firm grip but don’t force it. They are males and LED is lower power and a lot less heat than halogen so you shouldn’t encounter any trouble, but if it’s not feeling good we can troubleshoot. I did some test fitting on my side and it seemed ok but I know this stuff a bit more than most people. It certainly wasn’t as buttery as I’d like it to be.

color-wise things should line up exactly except low beams are white with a color matched stripe to the OEM solid color wire. The reason for that move is that the passenger side has two blue wires and the risk of a mismatch during assembly seemed unnecessary to me. The ground for the whole thing is sourced off the high beam connector so that one needs to be connected or nothing will work. The rest are all positive triggers.

We probably have some kind of common connection to this Aunty Gerri! haha. The headlights are arriving Tuesday and hopefully I should have the truck sometime late next week. If my stalking skills are correct, the boat should be docking Sunday morning. The harness looks super legit. Can't wait to hook it up.

Can you make a harness to move the traction switch or the inverter to below the stereo?

Inverter relocation has been researched but AFAIK, there is no mating TE male connector which does wire to wire. I had thought of moving mine as well.

Traction control I haven’t looked at specifically as mine is in the overhead.

@Puppypunter can fact check me on this.

My recommendation would be to either leave things as is and maximize spots in the cubby with a MESO 3D printed one or cut and extend with color matched wire and butt connectors.

From left to under the steering wheel it’s a different connector and is indeed feasible (full plug and play). It’s the overhead VSC off that doesn’t have a mate, however @caribe makaira and I found a solution for that one using R44.

I think I would like the white to be on the toggle.

Yes, would like to have the ambers on as chase lights but if a blinker was used the corresponding amber would act as a turn signal. The other light would just be on/off depending on if the chase light switch was on or not. Am I making sense?

OK, reminder note for myself (yes, I'm talking to myself in my own thread, hopefully this is not a sign of early stage dimensia?)

    1. Custom DIR for @caribe makaira (locate spec in DM's)
    2. Dir + rapture for @ktbell444 (I think this just needs the LED T piece, the rest is all built and ready to ship)
    3. DIR for @TheTacoAdventurer
    4. Headlight harness for @ksimms92
    5. Headlight harness and DIR for C.K.
    6. Bed light harness for @JDSmith (check DM’s)
    7. Ship all DIR orders
    8. Continue (maybe finish) hood and ditch light harnesses for @Zumozuzu7 (possibly still hoping for 24 pin GEP option)
    9. H4 headlight harnesses for @Shadowhunter, @Empty_Lord (with 3rd circuit for caddy horns) and myself
    10. Notify @Jeff Dartfrog so he can order DIR and ECT extension
    11. Bed light harness for @Khoadattran
    12. Connectors for @Hayrider
    13. Panoramic camera extension research and mod/fab overhead console T for @2020SilverSky

I might be missing someone here, the downside is that I can't ask the person I forgot to tag what I'm forgetting about :(

Good for tracking! I like it.

Okay dumb question... but I used taps on my stock headlight wires a long time ago. I' like to switch it to plug n play at some point but is there any practical way to repair the original wires without either depinning them or cutting them and shrink wrapping them?

Maybe some photos? I assume T taps? Mostly we advise leaving those on the wire (I have some on my truck in the driver kick panel from a dealer installed alarm). You might use silicone sealant to try to restore waterproofness. I believe what I've heard/read is that removing them is likely to break more wire strands than leaving them intact?

You might be able to cut them off with tinsnips (perhaps I will try this on some scrap wire and see how it goes) but from there you'd need to de-pin and heat shrink or tape to protect against shorts.

Or, just-right sized heat shrink with glue, with a slice in it, might wrap 1.5x around the wire and provide a decent seal.

You are correct that they are T taps. Probably just a project that should be on the bottom of my list then haha

Driving south this weekend, should be home by Tuesday 7/20 at the latest.

I remember you were holding off, let me add you to my note-to-self and I'll post when I'm back in the saddle so you'll know.

Totally a-ok to order up DIR though, that's all done with the form so I won't forget about it. It's just the custom stuff where I could lose track and then feel like a schlub for not having it done.

How much should I add to the DIR cost for the ECT relocation cable?
