CV Boot Tear

    07 Tacoma access 4x4
    turbo KN Filter 3" Lift Kit Rock Sliders TRD Skid plate ProComp 285/75R16, Removed. FJ Wheels w/ 265/70R17 Delay wiper switch 168xxx miles, engine lost compression at cyl 1. Replaced with pulled engine with 63k miles (non Turbo).

    so how did it work out, did the cv replacement works better?

    Uh. It's beat to he//. But it's only 1 owner.
    Custom body work/damage ARB rear locker Bumpers Shocks Other parts Tires and Rims Air tank fully plumbed into truck "Golf ball mod"
    I just replaced my oems with some new ones from O-reillys. Drivers side made it a month before I blew it to smitheriens. So I am going to put new boots on my original ones and run them, and keep my new ones as spares

    Reviving a dead thread here, I'm new to all this, does that CV axle from rock auto need a boot purchased separately? Or does the axle include one. I'm pretty new to mechanics and trying to figure all this out. Found out my boot is torn, been driving on it just avoiding 4wd but figure I should replace the whole shaft since I have no idea how long it's been torn for

    I got mine from rockauto and they lasted a few years before I traded truck in. would do it again
