Wish I could have taken my tacoma but its only a 2wd and some areas where I was gets pretty slippery so I had to take his 4x4 tundra.
    Took this pictrure

Sometimes I wish I bought a tundra buuuut then I saw him fill it up with gas and I am happy with my 23mpg :D

Nice truck. In other news, who do I need to snuggle to get 23 mpg?

No one, you need to buy a 2wd, 4 banger. You should be able to get 20 MPG with a 4wd V6 though if you're light on the skinny pedal.

I'm about 80% highway. Going super light, and I mean to the point where I've had a couple people honk due to my slow acceleration, and cruising at 65 the best I've done is 19.4. I'm happy with that but I still cant seem to break the 20 mark

But back to the point. OP your dad has a great truck. I just sold my dad's 07 crew, 4x4 limited for him. I took it to the snow a couple times and it did great

Yup 2 wheel drive 4 banger 5 speed
    Drive it EASY
this is 50/50 mix of city and 80 on the freeway

I lug it in city driving 4th by 30 and 5th at anything 50 or above depending on traffic

I really like that truck, its literally a big tacoma :p

Sorry to de-rail OP. I found that the Tacoma is geared relatively low. Cruising over 60 MPH (or over 2,000 RPM), I noticed my MPG's dropped off. I do mostly back road driving and city driving mixed (I avoid stop and go) and I was able to break the 20 mark. On the highway, cruise set at 72 - 74, I'd drop to around 17 MPG.

    What is your set up?
I go roughly 400 miles on 17.3 gallons of gas

If I cruise to the beach at 60 I get about 27 drop to 55 i get 28/29
    At 80 I get around 25
I will say the gearing in the tacoma isnt the best. 3500 or so at 80
