Hi everyone. After 30K miles on the stock tsb leaf springs (with a Wheelers progressive AAL) it is time for new leaf springs. I have OME struts, coils and shocks, so I was thinking of getting the Dakar leaf pack.

What does everyone think of removing the upper overload leaf to help with articulation offroad? My thought was to remove the overload and add the OME AAL. Basically I want the stiffness of the AAL without the increased ride height, combined with better flex for offroading.

I always have 250 pounds worth of topper and gear in the bed, and then have an additional 500 pounds of gear and supplies for camping/offroad excursions.

Would the Allpro expo leaf pack be a better choice? My concern is that I would end up with too much lift and not sure if the OME rear shocks are long enough for that leaf pack.

Go with expos or a custom leaf spring from Atlas suspension or Alcan suspension

Which shackle flip did you use? How much lift did you get from it? What leaf springs are you running?

    Your truck looks great!

I was thinking of Alcan springs since they are close by. Has anyone had experience with them? I've seen mixed reviews of their springs- mainly that they sag after a short time. Not sure if this is the case, or if people are just pushing those springs extra hard.

I believe they have improved but not sure. I know there is a. If GB going on for them. I have expos now and they are holding well with my topper and rack. But they rust quickly. I sprayed mine not to long ago to last me a little longer.

I would go all-pro expos I have them with a rear HC with tire gate 33inch spare and a snugtop topper on and they hold up great gonna have to add quite a bit of weight to get those to sag
I'm planning on shackle flip soon too

Which shocks are you running? Do you think the OME shocks would be long enough at 14" collapsed and 24" extended? My shocks have plenty of life left in them so I don't really want to buy new shocks at this point.

But my local mall has some really rough parking areas, plus the occasional curb.

I'm running Icons and they're about that length too, just as Ryan said don't flex too far with them

do you know what the compressed/extended length of the expo leaf pack is?

i plan on wheeling pretty hard with the springs and have a trip planned to Moab next spring. I don't jump the truck or haul across the desert like a racer, but I do take the truck on real trails. Perhaps I should stick with the Dakars for now. Although the shackle flip or Chevy conversion is tempting!
