The trimmed fenders make it look worse than it is though as far as uptravel goes.

Stupid Clamshell bushing of stupidness ordered to replace the stupid, noise-making, vibrating, pile of crap, CV axle removal required, needle bearing.

Wish I had the money to just throw a new 4.56 front diff with an ARB in there!

I just dumped half of my front diff oil onto my skids and onto my workplace's parking lot...

I just ordered the bushing too. Guess I'm gonna order the seals now... Really didn't want to fuck with them cuz I hear they're a nightmare to seat in properly...

Fuck I need another daily driver...

 

Lol yea I had my CV out 3 times before I got the right seal (theres two types and they both look almost identical...) and got it seated the right depth... Have fun! Wish I could explain how to seat it but make sure you have a seal driver to make your life easier.

Yeah I was worried this was going to happen. I've been nervously checking under my truck every time I got in it since LT install. Looks to be just the driver side but I ordered both OEM seals. They have different part numbers so I *should* be able to keep them separate. I honestly have no idea on depth... Should I just get it close then pound the CV in so the CV ends up setting the seal at the proper depth?

Also seal driver?

 

Sorry sometimes it's not all rainbows and unicorns. Didn't mean to totally beat you down haha I just remember it sucked when I had to do it. There's a video somewhere on replacing it. Or just take a picture of where the old seal is set and match that with the new one.

CV axle seals? I'm not sure if it is different for the second gens, but for me the driver side seal gets pushed in as far as it will go. The passenger side seal gets installed flush with the opening in the diff. I accidentally replaced my passenger side seal and pushed it all the way in and I came out the next day to see all my expensive synthetic oil all over my driveway. Have fun with that job!

 

At least I believe that's how they get installed on mine....After screwing it up twice, I took it to the shop. haha

So I reckon I should just toss it on the trailer to take it home, huh? Rather than try to take my skids off, and refill in the parking lot just so it will all run out on the way home lol

So this is what I found sitting against the lip of the drivers side axle seal.... That would explain the noise lol. This seal doesn't look too hard to screw up... Just basically flush. Here goes nothing I guess...
