    Lots of people run 4.88s with 35s, many also run 4.56 with 35s.... I know stfu510 has mentioned that he has lost alot of power with 4.56/35s/lots and lots of extra weight. Dont think you can really go wrong, if you want to do 37s eventually just go 4.88s id say

    4.56 is the way to go. Even with 37's IMO

    Don't go to 37's, you'll break an axle or what ever happened to that one guy you showed me when I was over

    This is what I'm thinking. I am heaaaavy and I don't even have my front bumper and winch yet.

    See I'm worried about the front axles and diff. Spoonman is breaking things left and right including his All-pro chromoly shaft :eek:
    Yeah but he's also and auto. Keep in mind since I'm manual I will already be running higher rpms.
    This haha, that's the least of my worries

    I'd stay with 35's, they look the best IMO and you get more travel with them compared to 37's

    Im pretty sure he broke his axle shafts due to too much droop with his AP Lt kit that claims no need for a limit strap. He made a few videos showing the "scuff marks" from his shafts rubbing.

    His most recent diff break i have no clue what caused that lol

    Hookay you're probably right. Soooo 4.56 or 4.88? I've heard some people say 4.56 is a little over geared than stock with 35s. Probably be fine :notsure:

    I'd go 4.88, since you have so much extra weight, then you add camping gear you'll probably be happy. But I bet 4.56 would be just fine, im no expert in gears though

    Alright... alright...:rolleyes:

    Here's why I say 4.56 and not 4.88:
    First: get up and go. with 4.56 there is PLENTY of torque in 1st. gear especially when in 4lo.
    Second: highway RPM - currently at pace with traffic I'm at 2500-2600 RPM and mileage eats a dick. Imagine having 4.88's, You scream down the highway just to keep pace at 70-75.
    My spedo says 70mph when I'm really going about 66mph.

    I can't speak on Spoonmans experience as every truck is different. My thought process based on research and speaking with others on different forums (RST). Bottom line: the Tacoma rear axle is capable enough to Handle 37's. I do not have experience with LT so I cannot comment on that - however Mark (NWITaco) had 37's on LT and did well with it prior to SAS.

    Dakota, if you regear for 35's please go 4.56 - you will not regret it.

    Ok ok you convinced me. So you're carrying around a bunch of armor as well and you have get up and go? Im concerned the winch and front plate will really be a lot. Plus my rear with the full size is a lot too. I guess you have a rtt tho. That ain't light.

    Gahh I just don't want 4.88s CUZ of the rpms. If I'd had an auto Id do it...
