I am getting new rims and rubber and it sucks that I have to have my stock tires pulled off to get my tpms out.

to completely disable it all you have to do is hold down the TPMS button for about 15 secs while you are driving. I did it awhile back and it has never come back on, even when the weather got about 35 degrees cooler over the weekend and i know the pressure went down. The guy at the Toyota service center told me how to do it, but he told me it would be about $70 for them to reset the sensor if i ever wanted it to work again. I didn't need it, i check the tire pressure every so often anyway, so i am ok without it. But do at your own risk.

how much is a normal cost to take tires off and mount and balance the new ones?

Just unplug the TPMS ECU, it's behind the radio, takes about 5 minutes to do this.

completed on my 06 on day 3 of ownership.

Remove 3 control knobs by pulling them straight back. Grab the A/C control box and pull back, held in with 4 clips. There are also -3- wiring harnesses connected to the back (A/C and clock)

There should be 4 bolts exposed, 10 mm I think. Remove all 4 of these and the radio should slide straight out. Remember there are 2 or 3 wiring harnesses and the antenna cable connected. The wiring harnesses only go in one spot, you won't get them mixed up.

When the radio is removed, look down and you will see a horizontally mounted silver ECU looking box, with a plug coming out of the back. It should be marked TPMS, or something similar. Unplug this and then reinstall the items above. don't need to remove all the items Toyota recommends, just reach your hand down and unplug it.

I just priced a sensor for a 2008 Chevy Tahoe. They run about $70.00 a piece.

Have we gotten that Fucking lazy that you cant put a tire gauge on it and see it you are low? I know I can eyeball my tires and tell it they are low. I put air in my tires every so often and my tire pressure light has never gone off. And that aftermarket system looks like shit anyway. You dont have a lot of room in a Tacoma to begin with why would you want to add useless shit.
