dan0mite's 2014 Honda GROM Build

I've been wanting a GROM since they were released but never wanted to pay full price for what would essentially be a toy. The used market on these little bikes is like trying to find a used 2nd Gen Taco for a steal...

Ended up finding a 2014 Grom for sale within an hour's drive from me. The seller had it listed for $3k (MSRP is $3k) with a dead battery and a missing (stolen) mirror. As a result of the mirror being stolen, she parked it in an unused spare bedroom. The bike ended up sitting while she was deployed and I later found out that she took a slow spill on in, which I suspect is why it got parked.

Anyway, I sent her a message to see if it was still for sale since it has been listed for months and if the price was negotiable. Her response was yes to both and what was the price I wanter to offer. I hit her at $1500 stating that it was NADA low value due to the dead battery, missing mirror, and the fact that I'd have to possibly clean out the fuel system and hope there was no rust in the tank.

She told me she still owed ~$2500 to the bank so I offered to pay of the bank if she would give me $1k and the bike. She accepted my offer and I was able to score this badass 2014 Honda Grom for $1500!

New battery, aired up tires, topped off oil, temp tags...LETS RIDE!

 

Can't leave well enough alone...just dropped some serious (relative) coin on this $1500 toy.

Lucky ducky. I wanted one for a long time until I actually sat on one. At 6'1", I look a little goofy on it (or should I say goofier than usual). If I'm going to look goofy on a little bike, might as well get a Ruckus. I'll be following along as you build it up.

Just checked CL in my area. Found one with 250 miles for $2500.

 

Exhaust spacer ($10 bolt and spacer), cargo rack, and mirrors arrived today.






Fender eliminator is supposed to be here tomorrow. Exhaust and tires arrive next week.

 

Picked up the Two Brothers S1R exhaust and tires from UPS yesterday!

 

Like a kid on Christmas...couldn't wait!
