I agree, I didn't even realize I hated the stock ones until I got the new ones, always just used the steering wheel. Now I'd say it's about 50/50.

    Good build so far!

I'm about to do the exact same lift (JBA UCAs and Icon AAL instead). I also have the SR8s but in gunmetal. I may PM you for questions about installing the lift.

have you measured what your mid hub to fender measurements are in the front?
i have the same set up and mine are around 24" which means i got about 4" of lift
it worries me because my lower ball joint angles don't look so good

    btw your truck looks awesome!

Love the build man.... Just finally purchased my first Tacoma last week after wanting one for years. I've always driven cummins trucks. Planning a very similar build.

Cab mount chop to make things fit? why 887's over 885's? I'm still torn between 265's or 285's and am not worried about performing a CMC. I like everything about the 265's outside of the look. :)

Thanks man, appreciate it! I did not have to do CMC, but I havn't flexed it offroad to it full potential. 285s will definitely hit the cab mount if you plan on off-roading at all; I'll get around to doing it one day. Other than that, I really only had to trim a tiny peice of the fender plastic to make the 285s fit. I went with the 887s because they are a tad longer than the 885s, with the exact same spring rate. I rather get the full 3" from the coils, rather than adding a top-plate spacer to the 885s. I am actually taking off my 887s in the next few weeks to swap back to factory TRD offroad coils (keeping 5100s) and installing the Maxtrac spindles since I'm 2wd.

@ensaladas why are swapping front setups? Anything you didn't like about the 887s or do you just want to go higher?

I never measured mine after the lift, but it has definitely settled .5 to an inch since I installed my 887s.

That's crazy you got 4 inches. My only concern would have been the CV boots. I've been keeping an eye on mine, but for piece of mind I might do the pipe clamp mod and slide them.

I'm a prerunner so there is less weight which is probably why it gave me 4. Same as the 885's I got almost the full 3" where most get 2.5
