Following up on my install. There was more to it than I expected, but it's installed, looks beautiful, and sounds great. Some issues:
    • Trying a few things, I was able to minimize the gap I referenced above, but not eliminate it. Did my best and slapped some black foam tape behind the gaps and called it good.
    • I followed this procedure to make my hazard insert work.
    • I'm getting playback stutter when I play audio from my iPhone to the unit via bluetooth. USB is fine.
    • The Android weather app won't load weather conditions even with a WiFi connection.
I think I'm happy, but Dasaita really should do better regarding the hazard bracket. It's ludicrous to have to buy/scavage a used radio to solve to this. The gap issue is annoying as well.

Just got the top display 13inch screen that the OP posted to his YouTube page and I think it's massive for one but at the same time I think better quality than the dasaita which is what I originally looked into getting. Top display sent me one without hesitation for product install and for review. My only thing is I currently have the expedition essentials mount and wondering how I will be able to come across a mounting system that will aquire all of my dashboard accessories as I currently have a 6.8 screen in the truck at the moment.

Could you re-link the procedure you followed for the clock? Dealing with that now…

Also, were you able to setup all your steering wheel controls? Mine recognize the buttons on the right and MODE on the left, but I can’t get the arrows or volume buttons to work at all!

    Here is the link.

Yes, I was able to set up my steering wheel controls. I just made sure that everything that could be plugged into the harness was.

I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma with JBL and back up camera. prior to order I emailed them and asked which unit to buy and they recommended the one unit with CB004 wiring harness, upon delivery and install the wiring harness is missing one of the plugs that it needs to work. I looked up the CB004 harness in accessories and shows all the plugs I need. has anyone else had this issue or has had issues emailing them?

With my setup, I know that I had some left over factory harnesses + wires that went unplugged, yet everything worked fine. And I'm fairly sure that harness was one of them.

Ask them for a new harness. Sounds like they screwed up on it.

@cole766 were you able to get an answer from Dasaita about this harness?

So I've owned my Dasaita for almost two years now. Wish I could say it has been painless, but every few months I seem to have some issue that takes me a week or so to figure out, but this one is weird.

I'm running HAL9K mod, and I use wired Carplay, I don't use wireless as the Bluetooth has been a consistent pain in the ass for a multitude of reasons.

I have been having an issue where the truck won't connect wired Carplay, but if I restart the radio, as soon as it turns back on, it connects to wired carplay perfectly fine.

Another note, the Zlink screen continously says "connecting", does that for about 15 seconds, then it goes back to "waiting" then back to "connecting". This issue is resolved once restarting the radio.

Don't want to have to restart the damn thing every time.

Has anyone else encountered an issue similar to this?

    Thanks.

Yep, happeneds every blue moon. I disconnect the battery and drain it by grounding the positive for 30-40 seconds. I’ve gone the disconnect, connect, forget device, add device high tech route. This is faster and easier.

I ultimately reinstalled the firmware on it last night. It SEEMS to have fixed it, if not, I'll keep your method in mind.

    RJ,
Can you provide a link to HAL9K please. Do you have to do all the previous updates first?
    Thanks!

Glad my procedure is helpful for some of you folks. I too was surprised it took that much to fix it.

Mine has been fine, but I've always said it's an "enthusiasts" head unit that is not as polished as a main stream head unit. This is definitely not a project to take on unless you dont mind screwing with it from time to time.

Never mind, a search turned it up.
