Yep, I'm going to say the light bulbs behind the cluster are out. Its a total PITA to get to them, you basically have to take apart the whole dash, in order to take out the cluster, to replace the bulbs. The ones in the middle of my cluster went out last year, it was annoying having a dark spot right in the middle haha

I replaced all the bulbs (there are 4 of them) at the same time, since I was in there. I'm pretty sure the bulb size is 194.

I actually have a similar problem. It just started two nights ago, the tach light will flicker on and off. I was really hoping it'd be an easy fix but of course you gotta take the whole damn truck apart

My world was perfect before the right half of my dash blacked out. It's happened before and I used a primitive tool to fix it a couple of times:

    Closed-fist Caveman Strike on Dashboard.

    Let there be light.

That tool stopped working one day, so I dug the cluster out of the dash and checked the bulbs; fine. Wires; check. All fuses; 100%.
Everything goes back together the way I found it, only cleaner. So I turn the lights on and don't you know, I have zero illumination.
The center console (A/C, radio) lights work fine, so does the rheostat. My break/maintenance lights are good. I just don't know how fast I'm driving at night.

Maybe the bad apple could be the thin printed circuit board behind the spedo? Any other ideas out there?

    Bumping this thread.

Anyone ever figure this problem out? I, like Havoc69, used the primitive caveman tool for about a year, but now no lights at all on my left side read out. This includes temperature guage and left side of tach.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that wailing on your dash probably didn't help matters.
