This is my first tacoma (97' rc V6) and recently I took the dash appart to install a stereo and noticed that the area behind the cabin control panel trim(vent, AC, fan control) looked as though it is set up to be illuminated... is this true... might have a bad bulb? i always thought it odd that the dash was so dark at night time.
    thanks,
    fish

I have a 97 and happen to have my dash apart at the moment. I only see one bulb in the dead center of the climate control panel.

I'll add that in my 95, I used to have an illuminated climate control panel above the radio. :) When the light started to go intermittently dark, I started memorizing where the hot/cold and on/off buttons were for the fan!
