I have a manual '05 tacoma. My dash parking brake/abs light is on even when I release the parking brakes. Everything works fine but the light is on...Does anyone know how to get rid of it? It bugs the hell out of me..can I remove the fuse? Can I disassemble the dash and pull the bulb or plug somewhere...any tips or comment is appreciated! Thanks

check your wheel speed sensors. or could be a malfunction in ABS system. Read yer owners manual too.

Hey just wondering if you ever fixed the problem with the abs dash lights. I'm experiencing the same problem with my 08 Tacoma now.
Any help would be really appreciated
    Thanks

There is a button under the steering wheel by the gas pedal, it needs to be depressed to turn off which will then turn off light on the dash, it may not be depresses use duck tape to keep it down

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are THAT'S FUNNY! It's for the tire pressure sensors. That's all it's for.

I got tired of my parking brake/ABS lights on. I checked the fluid level, replaced Both rear sensors, replaced the harness. Finally I yanked the LED's out of the dash. Screw it. I don't have anti lock though.

had this same problem with my 99 tacoma and the parking break light would always stay on. try pushing in the handbrake really hard (dont break anything) or twist is and let it slam in by itself (sorry hard to explain it).

Not sure if same problem, but on my 11' my parking brake light was also staying on, so I took it to dealership (warranty) and they ended up replacing master cylinder and brake booster. Master cylinder was leaking into brake booster.

Not sure if you have same problem.

I had a the same problem in my first gen. I had a slave cylinder that went out on the passenger side. I refilled the reservoir. It didn't happen right away but the light turned off and never came pack. I meant to replace the slave cylinder but I sold it before I got around to it.

Hi Everyone, We've got a 2004 Tacoma truck and are now having the same problem. The brake light on the dash is ON even though the brake is off. Agree with the person who said it is real annoying.

    So, what is the solution?

    1. Depress the button near the brake and hold down with duck tape if necessary?

    2. Check the brake fluid?

    3. Master Cylinder (Ouch - sounds expensive)

Would love it if someone could post an update. Does Toyota ever post in these forums??

    Many Thanks, TacomaRed

I have the same issue on my 09 tacoma. Thought maybe it had to do with automatic start I had installed. According to installer, stated it was an issue with Toyota and Hondas. Mentioned a switch behind brake peddle not depressed all the way and maybe a low battery charge. Curious if anyone else has same issue.

I also have the ABS light on..had it fixed but was said the gear is stripped inside the back... and its a very costly job...more then my truck is now worth. Abs light on is OK for inspection in my state. The problem is that the red brake is on also and that wont pass me ...I am not a mechanic ..I have tried looking at the fuze box but no luck....any ideas would be a great help. My Tocoma is 2005...or anyone in Virginia that can help..?

Did anyone ever find out an sulution to this ABS/Ebrake lights being on??? I've had this problem for about 4 years. I've gotten used to it being on, however i still wonder how to fix this? I have changed the sensor and everything but its not working. I have looked for that button underneat the steering wheel by the gas pedal but it does not do anything... If you have found a sulution please share the info. Thanks.
