So some kid scammed my grandpa out of $80 by jumping infant of his truck and pretending to get run over. It's $80, no one was actually hurt, there was no scene, no-one called the local municipal tyrants, just call it a damn day.

This brought up memories of an aunt that did end up going to court because some woman tried to commit suicide (not really, she was just trying to scam her) by jumping infront of her car and received some injury and ended up deciding to sue.

Ive been thinking about a dash cam lately, but now I want to get one for everybody. We're looking at 10 dash cams that I want to buy, especially since half of our vehicles are "commercial vehicles."

Does anybody have some recommendations for some dash cams? I know if I get the $500 Im set, but I don't wanna spend $5k plus installation.

Thats really cool man. One thing that kinda bothers me is that I would also want one that could record someone hitting me while Im parked at night.

Has Parking Surveillance mode, but the feature has mixed reviews. I don't bother with it, but I get why someone would.

I have and recommend the Viofo A119 V3.
Search YouTube and you'll see side by side comparisons with others.
Awesome picture quality and uses capacitors instead of batteries which is better in hot temp areas.
If you want a front and back combo, Viofo sells them too.
Lots of extras you can add to your purchase as well.

    https://www.viofo.com/en/14-accessories

Regardless of dashcam, I recommend purchasing the Samsung Pro Endurance micro SD storage cards. These are designed for multiple recording event devices like dash cams, security cameras, and etc.

These look promising. They're ugly, but very well priced.

They might not be as small (about the size of a cell phone) as others but it's nice to see you camera angle as you position it on the windshield. I have mine placed just under the rear view mirror. The back side of it kind of blends in with the factory tint in that area, but hey to each his own.

This one. I use the viofo as well. I have two different models one is just older. I also put one in each of my Dad’’s vehicles as also had an issue with someone blaming him for an accident. Been very happy with them. One advantage is they use a capacitor instead of battery so they work much better under cold or hot conditions

A little something every chance we get.
I got this ROAV C1 Pro for the Taco front, and the old version for rear view. They live in the truck and of the 6 cheaper brands, the only ones that passed the 'in warranty' period. They work just fine, I have NO problems, and I format the SD monthly.

    Amazon.com: Roav by Anker Dash Cam C1 Pro, 2K Resolution 2560X1440, Built-in GPS/WiFi, 2.4" LCD, 4-Lane Wide-Angle View Lens, G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording, 2-Port Charger, 32G microSD Card (Renewed)

I bought two Apeman cams for the wife and kid. Already replaced the kids after 5 months. It was like pulling teeth.

I’d recommend on with wifi transfer. While the one I got uses a micro sd card, I keep looking at a new version with the wifi…
Here is what mine looks like (this model no longer available, they have newer ones though) also, not the best example since there is no car in front to see plate. This one also has rear camera.

I run a Blackvue DR750S 2CH paired with a Cellink Neo Battery Pack. I have 20+ hours of timelapse parking mode, and the battery pack charges back up to full in a 15 minute drive. Blackvue Cloud features are incredibly helpful, real-time gps, live-view, cloud back up, home network NAS upload, etc. I have a 512gb sd card for around 3 weeks with of recording.

I also have the tamper-proof casing, which proved helpful in one occasion when one tech tried to disable my camera...

I have it mounted on the OEM GoPro mountDSC_3194-01.jpg
