I took one of my existing GoPro mounts and just used Gorilla glue to fix the Aukey mount to the GoPro mount and then clipped it in.

Perfect. Thanks for the insight. I’ll post up pictures once I get it mounted.

Interested to see if this works. I need to figure how to mount to the go pro mount but not with a go pro device.. it needs to be sturdy for my use.

If I remember I’ll grab some pics in the morning. I basically modified the mount that came with the camera so that it would fit into one of the GoPro mounting pieces. It was a bit of a pain but it worked and it’s sturdy. I just purchased one of those GoPro mounting kits from Walmart for like $15 so I had multiple options for mounting parts and quick releases. Below is a link to the kit I purchased but I picked it up locally not at this site.

Here are the pictures I took. You can see the middle section of the quick mount that I crudely cut out with a dremel. It gets covered up by the dash cam mount anyway and I was out of patience. Depending on what you have to mount this could work. I had to drill out the hole a little on the dash cam mount so the screw could go through too. I used the turn screw and quick mount from the GoPro kit and mounted it up. It’s worked out well for my application and doesn’t vibrate around so I get a nice clear video. With the sun I couldn’t get as clear of a picture as desired of it mounted but you can see how it sits. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll help if I can.

I have a vantrue n1 pro that I'm using connected to the same location under the AM1. I know very little about these fuses so I just quickly threw in the spare red 10 amp fuse into the empty slot in conjunction with the already supplied orange 5 amp fuse. I was wondering if that 10 amp is fine as it is or should I use a higher or lower amp fuse. Specs of the vantrue hardwire kit

Is this for all Tacoma years? I’ve a 2014 Limited and I don’t think the fuse that came with me Rexing V1 4K is a low profile mini

Ok so I have a question. I got the Rexing V1 4K with parking mode for Christmas. Not sure I want to use parking mode since right now I don’t drive a lot with being in school. I got the Rexing install kit as seen in the picture. The red wire is labeled as Alway on, Yellow as Car On/Off and the black as ground. I know I have to change out to a low profile mini fuse, but what do I do with the fuse option (red) that I don’t want to use right away? For example... I want to have the dash cam on only when the truck is running and later down the road convert to using the parking mode.

I believe you can just tape it up and tuck it out of the way until you decide you want to use that option later..

** GARMIN Parking Mode Question ** Did anyone go in to the parking mode settings and keep it at 'Always On', or did you set a timer on it of sorts? I have it set to 'always on'; if I'm driving every day, or even every other day I should be good, ya? The Garmin parking mode cable should have built in low battery detection, huh... Let me know your thoughts! :) Thanks, y'all!

I’m also wondering about this. bought the garmin “parking mode” cord, but have been staring at the box wearily for two weeks. I’m pretty paranoid about coming back to my car with a dead battery. Being miles away from any civilization.

Or maybe I’m looking for any excuse to buy a dual battery set-up…. :D

my wife is definitely going to kill me :bananadead:

Going on a month since keeping the garmin parking mode at 'always on' - everything seems A-O-K. No issues with starting the vehicle- battery is doing well. Only problem I'm now having is how ssssslllllooooowwwwww the wireless connectivity is to the dashcam due to what I believe is the amount of videos that are saved on the sd card (?). Not sure if that's even the issue, but... since parking mode is now functional browsing the cams videos is super slow, to the point where i wait several full minutes for videos to load, and about 15min to tranfer a video. What the crap???

that’s odd. Maybe its “vaulting” all the video it takes while you have it parked.

Nothing to do with the SD card. It's just the garmin.

For anyone worried about battery drain, you need to invest in the proper wiring setups. If yours does not have a minimum voltage switch then find one. Also get yourself a portable jumper and charger just in case. The only thing I don't trust is stock batteries. But have yet to run into a failure using parking mode because I keep the voltage a setting higher than recommended. This means less time running parking mode, but not a concern for me. If you need parking mode all the time, lets say you park on a street, suburbs or in the city etc etc, then invest in battery packs. BlackBoxMyCar.com is your friend. But tbh, thos garmins are shady... just my two cents. Hey, I started with a $25 cam and something is better than nothing, that's for sure. But now days, you need at least a front and rear minimum for your own protection.

Got my Rexing Smart Hardwire Kit from Amazon today. Mine already has the mini plugs and as the picture shows, the fuses are added on the end. So can replace them easily. Installing my Rexing V1P Max next week.

Which always on fuse is recommended for the 3rd gen? And which ignition fuse is recommended?
