    I'd disown her.

But if my truck rear ended anything all I'd have to do is busy out the tremclad. I learnt my lesson from getting backed into twice by female drivers.

Glad she's OK. I never got to drive the folk's car. My Dad bought us a '66 Falcon for us to drive. I personally wrecked that car twice. Second time for good. Learned my lessons.

My sons are so afraid to hurt my truck that even if I ask them to move it out of the driveway for me so I can get my other car out, they refuse, laugh and then ask me if it's a trap.

Neither one has driven my truck. Wait. I don't think the older one has even been IN the truck....

Glad she didn't get hurt. I got my license when I was 17. I never drove the family car without one of my parents. It was the rule. I hated it but I would have the same rule now if we had kids. I have no stress either. :D

Glad she's okay, but not all teen drivers can't drive you guys! I know a bunch that are horrible drivers, but there is a few that can actually drive.

I started at 15 with my learner's permit, got my license at 16.

Now i'm 18, no tickets, no accidents and truck is still in one piece :D

I didn't read the thread, but texting and driving maybe?

Sorry about the truck, as long as everybody is fine that's all that matters.

Im glad she is ok and the other party as well. Sometimes I feel like I would rather have MYSELF hurt than hurt someone else. I have been in 13 accidents in 10 years of driving. Only one was my fault (cement truck dropped its chute on the freeway and I hit it, hit the sidewall, crossed 5 lanes, hit a minivan with 3 kids in it, and somehow I was found at fault for not maintaining distance.) Again, glad she is ok.

Glad she's ok and it sounds minor. Hopefully it can be fixed.

This is why my parents gave me a 10 year old hand me down car with 100k+ miles when I got my driver's license. I wrecked it when I was 17, then totaled it when I was 18. Statistically, teenagers 16-19 are almost guaranteed to have some sort of accident.

As for the safety factor thing. You can still buy your teenager an older cheap "clunker" that is still safe. I personally think that parents who buy their kids brand new cars are stupid.

Glad she wasn't hurt. Reminds me of a friend at work. His daughter has has a series of minor crashes starting when she went off to college with the latest happening a month or so ago (she has been graduated for a year or so). That one totaled the car he had given her a couple years ago. This was its second (and final) wreck. Smart girl...BAD driver.
