Yup young people crash cars girls more than boys! That's exactly why my daughter will be driving a newer car with very very good crash test ratings when she starts driving. I do t care if I have to pay to fix an expensive car that's just money, no amount of money can fix an injured child! Glad your girl is ok dude! Trucks can always be fixed.

Sorry no pics yet, my Daughter hasn't sent them to me yet. I think she is afraid to send them. As soon as I get them, I'll post them. Thanks for all the comments. Ya, I know I shouldn't have let her drive while I'm out of the country but she needed a way to get to work. This happened on her way home from work.

She had better not txting, or I'll KILL her, she says the person made an unexpected right turn into a Carl's Jr and didn't use a signal. I should talk to her about that, In California, would it be her fault if the person in front doesn't propperly signal????

From where I am, rear ending is rear ending. Even if someone else hits you and pushes you into the vehicle ahead of you. You are at fault for hitting the person in front of you. Arguments for the signalling one would just be not maintain a safe following distance. If they didn't have properly working brake lights then it is there fault for negligence. But other than that its always the rear enders fault.

welp, time to get a new daughter.

btw, as far as i know, in cali, rear end collisions are always 100% the car who rearended's fault. pretty sure theres an exception for if their tags are expired or tail lights are out or something. if they're legal and tail lights are working, ur boned.

Just be glad she's ok dude
Had she been hurt badly things would be much different right now. I gave my sister my old Honda Prelude about 8 years ago. She never washed that car, there was always books, clothes, etc in the car and she simply didn't take care of it. She got into an accident once, not too bad and sold it as is to keep the money. Pisses me off every time I think about it but at least she learned. Her curent car is clean now at least. Your daughter will learn.

In Texas If you have made a complete stop and someone rearends you and pushes you into the car infront, you are not at fault.

I'm glad my first wreck was on a street bike.

Slamming/sliding, breaking bones, and dodging vehicles going through a intersection, teaches you alot.

1: People in minivans are generally dumb as shit.
2: no matter how safe you drive, you can always get raped by traffic
3: nice looking vehicles (namely sexy italian sport bikes) are the most prone to wrecking/totalling.

Oh well, destroyed race leathers, totalled bike, and being hung up with a shattered clavicle makes you a little bitter. LOL

Sorry to hear about the incident. Really glad nobody was hurt. Truck can be fixed, and it sounds like both of you may have learned a lesson.

Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe she should not be driving, at least until she is responsible enough to pay for her own car. People tend to treat their own stuff with greater respect, and there is a chance this would not have happened if it was her car.

Also, does she drive your wife's car also? Is that a car? If so, your daughter may be used to the brakes of the car, then when driving the truck expected the brakes to work as good as a car (maybe nobody expressed the need to leave greater following distances in trucks due to their crappy brakes). Not to mention the v6 is pretty fast, and easy to get into trouble if you have a lead foot.

Again, sorry to hear about this, but glad to hear everybody is ok. That is what matters.

So I spoke with the body shop today, the estimate for repairs are $4300. I finally got some pics and will try to post them. Can’t believe this little bit of damage is going to cost so much. Thank God for insurance.
