I plan to keep this truck pretty stock, but here's a thread to chronicle what I have done to it.

    Here's how it started:
    20150725_173011.jpg

    It's a 2.7 SR Access Cab with 5-speed manual.

Edit: BS is perfectly acceptable in this thread.

Yes, those are the stock rims on all of the 2015 SRs I looked at. I like them a lot.

When I wire the trailer harness (Curt T-Connector kit with the relay box), there is a hot wire that goes up to the battery. I'm going to run wire loom along existing wiring up the battery from the rear. It seems silly to run that loom without putting some additional wire in there, so I'm thinking about what else I may want to add at the rear of the truck. I'm not making any detours into the cab, so this is limited to direct power mods at the rear bumper without controls from the cab. The only thing I can think of so far is a 12v power outlet. Any suggestions?

I was near Clear Creek State Forest today and decided to go up to the Beartown Rocks and take some pictures.

I spent a lot of this week moving family and cleaning out a rental property to sell. No pics of the Tacoma loaded up, but it was 4-5 full loads in the bed and 4x8 utility trailer.

I finally got the trailer wiring done tonight.20150912_233844-1024.jpg

Pleasant surprise - the wiring kit doesn't have a wire to the battery. 20150912_234005-1024.jpg

The wire loom is a little too narrow for the 4-wire lead to the trailer, but it will work. 20150913_004621-1024.jpg

Nearly a year later and no more mods yet. The other driver side mud flap was torn off, though, and I finally fixed both last week. Still love the truck. I've basically moved people 4 times with it.

I Rainex'ed the windshield, mirrors, and front windows today and replaced the factory wiper blades. 14 months isn't bad for the old ones. They weren't too bad, but I don't want to head into fall with marginal ones, and I was replacing them on GF's Scion anyway. I also washed the truck, wiped conditioner onto the tires, and cleaned the inside glass. Aired the tires up to 39 PSI since I've had the last dealer service and this is mostly a highway truck. Looks like the dealer was keeping them around 31.

I got the case of filters from ebay the other day but haven't decided what oil I'm going to run in this in a few thousand miles. Most likely Mobile 1, but the jury is still out. I like Motorcraft 5w20 in a lot of vehicles (the GF's Scion for one), but I'm not going to switch this to synthetic blend if Toyota was running full syn.

I drove up to the Kinzua Sky Walk yesterday. Took a wrong turn on a narrow access road with a couple of small mudholes and was thankful for the 4wd. We got there a little late, but still got these shots.

Picked up a used contractor cap the other day. It needs work, but was very inexpensive. Lots of potential here.

Changed the oil today with 5.5 quarts of Mobil1 and a 90915-YZZD1. I still need to do the rest of the 30k maintenance, and will probably get it done, but I have a lot of driving to do in the mean time and didn't want to be running on old oil.
