Not too sure where we were. It was violent though haha I didn’t get to wheel but for a couple hours before it happened. Ended up leaving that night.

It’s a good park. I’ve only been there one other time, but it’s a blast.

Set up bumps and straps in the rear. Going to take the chunk out and replace the Detroit with a spool. I think that will remove a lot of slack in the pinion braking. Getting new boots all around and a new u joint style shaft and wobble seal for the one I broke. Painting the coils black while they’re off.

Hopefully will tackle the front next week. Need to fab up double shear steering and replace the stripped out knuckle. Also need to set up bumps and straps.

My Ford was howling, so I replaced the front hub assemblies, too.

Chunk is out. No hernias today. Thanks Kubota!

    Spool should be in Monday.

Not a healthy looking Detroit in the rear lol guess I’m going to spool the front, too because I can’t imagine the front ending up any better long term. Best case scenario I get to sell it before it grenades, too.

Got the rear buttoned up. Now on to the front. Adding a spool and fabbing some double shear steering. Used the winch to get the chunk out. So much easier.

The chunks alone weigh 215 lbs haha these axles are so easy to work on. I had reservations about Rockwells at first, but I have grown to love the simplicity, clearance and strength.

Bumps and straps set up in the front. Wobble seals and spool installed. Fabricating some double shear steering on the factory knuckles next.

Decided to swap the pinion brake to the rear of the chunk and mount the steering to the front. Ran into clearance issues trying to do double shear with the steering mounted behind the axle. Tie rods wanted to hit the lower links and if I raised it higher the driveshaft would contact the ram.

Ordered a high steer and double shear kit from Kryptonite. Luckily all my hoses/lines still work and I won’t have any issues clearing full stuff

Trimmed the pinion shaft to prep for ram clearance when my high steer stuff makes it here.

Got the high steer welded on to the front knuckles. Insanely beefy. 1” thick arms, 5/8” supports and 3/4” bolts. Knuckles are cast steel, so everything was preheated and slow cooled in my welding blanket. Waiting for my ram bracket to come in. First one was lost by UPS.

Just waiting on a ram mount and it’ll be back on its feet. Excited to ride again.

Finally! My shit is back on the ground. Ram mount made it in and I had to order new clamps that came in today. Got everything welded up and cycled. Ready to ride.

Couldn’t wait for the weekend. Cruised around to bring everything up to temp. Braking is much less sloppy with spools.

Swapped orbitals. Was at a whopping 6 turns lock to lock and now I’m at 2.5. Was planning on doing exhaust today, but still waiting on parts.

Decided to start working on body panels. I’m using 3mm composite aluminum since that’s what I have handy at work. Using trick tabs from Off-road Anonymous. Gotta come up with something cool to print on them once they’re all cut.
