Eventually I’ll build some monkey bars off the right side platform, but stick a fork in this project for now. Also, taking a break from my firewood fence for a minute lol

Yeah, as much as I want to fill in that decent size hole I’m gonna go with the Dorman replacement diff cover lol amazing how thin that metal is…

Forget if I mentioned this but shave that housing for better clearance while you are at it.

also won’t have to worry about the drain coming loose dragging over rocks

Shave like a 14 bolt or just cutting off the drain? Edit: nvm, no way there’s enough meat to shave like a 14 bolt lol

Looking at replacing stud replacement kits, too.

Kinda like a 14b just no room to shave the mounting face of the third like the diff cover on a 14b. Rather cut the housing from the mounting surface back and plate, making sure it clears the ring gear. There are some pirate threads on it, people say they gain up to 1” depending on pinion angle.

here are some random pics I saved of it

I plated the fuck out of my housing a while back and wish I would have done this instead

Wow I’d never seen that on a Toyota axle. Was debating plating mine. Toyota housings are pretty dang slim as it is. The chunk is pretty much in line with the lowest part anyways. After dealing with tons, I’m not sweating a yota thickness just yet haha

Japanese finger torture. Plus damn near every bolt snapped off in the frame. Don’t think I can bring myself to put this tank back@JTFisherman have you researched the Ford tank relocation any?

Thought I’d passed a kit on SRQ, but it’s just the brackets. Apparently it’s a whole thing and a separate gauge, so it’s looking easier to just extract the broken bolts and move on with life haha might see if the factory skid could be beefed up with some flat stock or something though.

Cut off the frame side lower link mounts, driver side axle upper link mount and replaced the diff cover. Also plugged up the diff drain and will replace the studs with bolts. I did an absolute awful job on the diff cover welding so it went to grind town. Different wire, bad settings, gas not flowing right and by the time I got it dialed in I was pretty much done haha

I think I’ve tried almost every suspension enhancement there is for the F-150 lol couple versions of air bags, timbrens, and finally an add a leaf. Now I’m going back to stock.

Ditched the decked drawers since I don’t need to ride around with all this crap nowadays. Everything I need fits in a pack out under the seats and a full toolset under the other. Nice to ditch a few hundred pounds and open back up the bed.

Off work for the week and instead of working on the truck wife wants to get goats and one or two mini cows. The grass section is about a third of the total fenced in area, the rest is in the woods. Bit over an acre.

Learned something new- don’t get the 330’ 196lb roll of fencing if you have to weave through the woods up and down hills.

Pretty sure we just live on a giant pile of rocks. Took half an hour per post since the auger didn’t do shit and they have to be dug by hand. Also, damn it’s hot :bananadead:

gotta build the goat house tomorrow then we can start adding animals.

Been busy lately. Tree killed the camper- big bummer there. We have six goats now.

4Runner is coming together- got the three link, shock relocation and rear disk set up this weekend. Had to modify the freel good kit, but it’s cycling 14” cleanly now.

East coast gear supply and @AccuTune Offroad delivered super quick. Both only took a week before they were shipped. Both super helpful and friendly as always. Went with 5.29 and ARBs in both diffs.

Looks good, what rear disc are you running and does it work for an e-break?

Got the front diff in, painted the bumpers and had the worst time with the steering rack. All the weld nuts broke, so I ended up throwing two bolts through the clamp side. Luckily they tightened without anything on the backside, but it’s anyone’s guess if they come off the same way. Another day lol
