I wanted to reverse the other thread question since it seem there's some bickering going on there regarding the DC. Although I have to agree the AC looks better as a truck but the DC is just way more practical IMO. If I was single, MAYBE I would get the AC. Its good that Toyota made all these different configurations available to fit our various needs and lifestyles. Any regrets DC owners? :)

No, the AC looks nice but I like my DC. No kids here either.

I agree the AC's cab and bed looks proportion to the trucks overall length but I'm not willing to give up function and practicality for that. Maybe if one was to build it as a show truck, the AC woulld definitely look better.

If I had a second car, I would have gotten a RC 4x4 and built it the same way I am now. But with getting engaged (potentially starting a family) and a dog, the choice was simple.

If you are over the age of 35 and you drive a AC, you need to re-evaluate your life and figure out if the path you are headed down is the path where you want to be. There is hope for you, and help out there if you need it. You just need to seek it out.

I agree, it's kind of like when you see a guy in his 30-40's driving a coupe or two door convertible.

Double Cab, because grown up, with real world responsibilities. I'm well beyond the "I will just buy this because it looks better stage".

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Sometimes I do wish I had the A/C when I'm out wheeling tight-ass trails, but when I compared the two at the dealer, there just wasn't enough room in the back seat...

Now, if they made a DC/LB Off-Road, I would've been all over that. But, I guess Toyota doesn't think DC/LBs should be on the trails - most of TW thinks the same thing :D

Someone also stated on the other thread that the AC is stucturally better than the DC. I strongly disagree due to the lack of the B pillar.

I've owned both. Both are great and have their pros and cons.

Exactly, most of the industry are abandoning the suicide doors because of more rigorous side impact requirements.

So ... let me get this straight ... driving a double cab equates to maturity and being financially stable.

Fuck ... if I had known that I could have saved a lot of $$$ going to college ...

I guess my military career, classroom years, administrative position in public education, home ownership ... along with a killer portfolio are a complete waste due to me driving an AC.

    Never saw that coming.

That's great and all, and everyone's situation and lifestyles will vary. But for most people an AC will be impractical. As I mentioned in the other thread, I had an AC (sorry X-Cab) gen 1, in High School and College and that was cute. But having a Double Cab just looks much more grown up and professional at age 36.

I agree if I was 18-25, probably would still be driving an Access Cab. All the the High School kids around here drive X-Cabs and Access Cabs, so I guess if your an old guy and want to look 15 again great.

I seriously mean no disrespect to those that have an AC configuration, as I've said I love all Tacoma's. But I just feel like the AC owner is getting less truck for their money. Or it says hey look I'm single or a fleet driver for a company, or possibly purchased an (Ex) Fleet truck.

I would take an AC for free, or from a company as a "perk" but I'm not choosing that option with my own wallet.
