My dog Tacoma only rides in the back. She actually prefers it. Except when we are Wheelin then she runs along side the truck. IMO Dogs are meant to work and part of their job is to be outside.

To tie her up i mounted a leash to the center of my tool box Per CA state Law. It is just long enough to let her head catch some air but not long enough for her to hop over the edge while on the leash.

My standard schnauzer rides in the back with the seats down.

Home Depot sells the perfect rug. 6 feet by 2 feet in multiple colors. The gray matches my interior. It fits the back perfectly with enough length to wrap under so it stays in place. I have a water spill-less water bowl that fits in the compartment behind the right seat.

Industrial, office-type floormat. Way more durable than most purpose-designed products and at a fraction of the cost. $16 at Costco.

Do you have a pic with the tailgate down? How do you secure it in the bed? Looks great!

I think I have one. I'll post it in a bit. The cage is secured to the bed rails using the tie downs. Thx.

Can you show a pic of the tie down connected to the bed rail?

I have a Golden Retriever and a Husky/Healer. Both ride in the bed (with a cap) and I have the bed run so they just stare out the open window or laydown and sleep.

I bought a Go Go soft crate- it has folding metal framework. It fits perfectly on the back passenger side seat platform. My 60 lb lab has enough room to get up and turn around, and it seems to be better than just letting him roam around the back seat. It also contains the fur better.

When I had my Dobe, he used to ride up front but then he started getting car sick all the time so the bed was the only place. My roommates chocolate lab just chilled in the back seat if I ever took him anywhere
