Some need it, some dont. Are you a long or shortbed truck?

AC wheelbase is same as a shortbed though right? I'm curious if that has something to do with it. I didnt have vibes or need shims but I have a DCLB.

I'm happy with my SPC UCAs but they can be a problem for some alignment shops if they don't know what they're doing.

I changed out to 887s and SPC UCAs last year, I wanted more height and a little better alignment.

I can say the 885 springs didnt drop at all but the 887 springs have now settled close to my old 885 height.

I've heard the newer OME springs are settling more now.

Hey, I was planning on going with the 5100s/885s/and 3 AAL like you had originally. When you said you wanted better alignment, were you having issues w/o the aftermarket UCAs? Or did you just want a bit more lift and got the UCAs to make sure your alignment was on point? I've been going back and forth between the 885s or 887s. Trying to do a budget lift right now, so I don't really want to get UCAs unless I have to.

I was getting a bit too much tire wear on the outside front tires, too much camber even with regular rotations. The UCAs helped reduce that.

Alignment numbers were good and driving was fine, over time the wear was noticable enough that I wanted to correct it.

I completely understand, tires are not cheap, I spent a lot on mine and want to get the full life out of them. Are you still happy with the SPC UCAs? About how much did they run you roughly if you don't mind me asking you? Trying for a budget build, I know UCAs aren't cheap.

Love the UCAs, picked mine up for about $450 but I've heard they recently went through a price increase. I think they're around $570 now.

Cant recommend them enough honestly. Maintenance isnt hard, a couple pumps of grease every oil change is all I've had to do so far.

Very good, thank you for the info. Wow, $570 def is a huge price jump, that would be almost the whole cost of the bilstein kit I was going to get. I think with the 5100s/887s/3aal it was $837.

Yes it certainly bumps up the cost and is easier to install all at once but the additional adjustability and handling make the truck handle really nice.

Other than the tire wear there was nothing bad about staying with the OEM UCAs, I could get decent alignment numbers so you can stay with them for budget purposes but for down the road I would consider adding them to the list if you start getting the same wear I did.

Handling with OEM was fine but a better alignment with aftermarket just makes it feel so much better. The suspension doesnt feel "compromised" if you know what I mean, you get full adjustability now.
