    I have no clue.
Has anyone tried any of the spray adhesives for re-affixing the badges?

My badges are drying as I type. I'm about to head out and pick up some of that 3M tape...

Thanks to the OP for the write-up.

I am planning on doing my badges this weekend. I have a black sand pearl taco. I have some left over dupli-color satin black paint. Am I better off using the Krylon black paint or which color of black would look good with my paint? Any advice or info would be great. Thx.

Also would this be the same paint to black out the grill and BHLM?

Please post some pictures when you are done! I have an 03 Black Taco and am trying to decide if I should go with black or red for my emblems.

I used a silicone type glue. not that one but same type stuff. It worked great. Thats stuff will work fine. just follow the directions.
EDIT: oh yeah I used rustoleum hammered black but only because that is what i used on my rims. that duplicolor is a nice look too.

Any ideas on what color would look nice against the Timberline Green? I was thinking about a bright high gloss white would stand out nicely. Also looking into those TRD emblems on ebay. I would paint them the same color and repaint the hash marks appropriately.

    Any thoughts?

Well the stuff i used was pretty adhesed when dried but it seemed like with enough force it could be taken off like dried hot glue from a hot glue gun. hopefully you can understand what i meant there. I would take something that has been painted like a toy car or something inexpensive ( give me a break my boy has some ini his hands and its all i could think of:) )and glues something to it. let it set a few days then go and try to remove it and see how it works. I'm almost postive it wont hurt your paint. usually with those type of glues you are supposed to put the glue on the object and let it set for a couple minutes so that it forms and gets a little dry and then you stick it on... thats how mine worked.

I have always liked it when they go with the same color of the truck. However white didnt sound like too bad an idea...not sure. great thing about badges is you can paint them and tape em to the truck a bunch of times to see what looks right.

Cool thanks for the idea. I'll do that. Maybe I'll just try it on my sisters car. Just kidding.

You could use it some have but I think most people just get some fine sand paper or steel wool and rough the emblem up.

I would take it off if it's annoying you enough. I don't think you could tape it up enough. An alternative that probably wouldn't be as good as taking it off and repainting it would be to try some nail polish or better yet some model car paint or really anything that you could use a small brush for. You'll probably notice a difference but I wouldn't think it would be as bad as chrome shining through.

my bro blacked out his toyota emblem on his tundra using several coats of krylon fusion for plastic (about 6 coats I think, waiting at least 20 minutes before each coat) and the 3rd time he took it to a car wash (with the high pressure hose), it knocked some off. i'd use the adhesion promoter if I were you. I'm going to be doing this in a few weeks.

You know that's a good point about how well these repainted plastic parts hold up. I'm curious how many people have taken thiers to a power car wash and have survived or not and with or without a paint promoter. I'm certain if you dont use the promoter that you need to scuff it up. Actually I'd scuff it up even using the promoter.

And I'll be purchasing a pair of the TRD emblems shortly as well. Looks like most people are enjoying the smaller versions. Guess I need to see a few picts of them. I'm thining about buying both sizes then sale the ones I don't like.
