I'll have mine in a few days. Any suggestions for a Mag Grey? I don't mind black or matching the grey, but I'm a girl, so I might could get away with a "color". I'm a fan of orange, like burnt orange, not bright orange. That sure would stick out, huh?? LOL!

A color like burnt orange might work pretty well if it was picked up on another part of the truck, like the grill emblem maybe......

I like the idea, and the mag grey is a very cool color.

Unless you go like burnt orange rims or something I would stick to black. IMO

Why don't you play with it in an image editor or something or go to the photshop request thread and see if someone can help you out before you go through the hassle of removing, repainting, and the most fun remounting.

That is great advice and what I've done to try a few colors out. It's not easy to change the color and have it look real (keeping it glossy, the shadows, etc...) unless you're experienced using this type of software but it would give you an idea. The good thing is you should be able to rule out some colors.

:woot:Nice Work! Those badges look so sweet against that white.

Can you write up what you used for paint and did you use the same primer mentioned in the article? Also the adhesive you used.

Those look so much better than chrome against white.

Thanks Man! I think it looks really good too. Gives the truck a different feel for some reason.

I used the Krylon Fusion for plastic paint...Satin Black.
I used the same Dupli-color Adhesive in the original post.
I used the same 3m tape...package looks different now from what i know. Kinda expensive for tape too. I found a smaller roll for 5 bucks and change and was just enough for all the badges. I cut the tape out to the shape of the letters, which was a pain in the ass. Took a lot of time. Gotta have sharp blades.

I did scrape the paint off a little when cutting the tape out. So i dont think it would be a bad idea to cut the tape out(leaving the red backing on) before primer and painting. I put a few more coats of both after I got done cutting the tape out. Still looks and works just fine. Made the tape blend in with the badges better, instead of being the gray color.

Anyways...Thanks to the original poster for the great write up and i would recommend this to anyone with a Taco!

Are you sure you boiught the small TRD emblems? Those look like the large ones next to your Tacoma emblem. The Tacoma emblem on my truck is almost 12" long.

Hmmm...gonna have to add this to the list.

Everything is coming off except a single "tacoma" badge to be centered under the tailgate handle.

I'll be leaving it chrome to match the bumper...until when/if the bumper changes...

I ordered two of the large 6"x1" and one grill emblem of the TRD style from China. May take a while to get here. I've decided I will not be painting or moving the emblems, just adding the TRD ones, of course this could change. I wish I had bought a small TRD emblem for the tailgate but I'm sure I will be happy for now.

Heck, I've still got to buy and install a tailer hitch and wiring. Just need to find the one that hides away nice. Nope, not much reasearch gone into it yet. This is next months little project (I hope). And this months projects include speaker replacement. Waiting for payday to order those.

Did mine today. Took it all off (everything on the tailgate, both door badges, both TRD Off Road stickers), put the V6 emblem on the passenger side door where the "tacoma" badge was. Put one "Tacoma" badge centered above the tailgate handle. That's it.

Looks very clean with simple lines.

Saving the "toyota" badge from the tailgate to center on my grillcraft grill when I get around to it in the next couple months.

Man...I should really invest in a digital camera. I'm probably killing you people without any pics.

How easy was it to remove the TRD Off Road stickers? Well I also guess I'm asking how you did it.

And like the others, Love to see the pics of the truck.

Well I finally started the whole process. I was only able to get the front grill emblem done today. Painted it a nice red, it's drying now. Ill put it back in the grill in a few hours and get some pictures up today or tomorrow.
