Very easy. There's nothing to it. I just got an edge started with my fingernail and then started peeling from there. Be slow, patient, and focus, and it'll come right off, just leaving some adhesive residue. You can take off the residue with a number of things...a lot of people like Goo Gone, but I worry about such a strong solvent on clearcoat, so I used Windex. Takes a little elbow grease, and I found that microfiber cloth seems to help the cleanup process.

A lot of people say heat it up with a hairdryer first or do it on a hot day. These are probably good ideas. FWIW, I did all my badgework today when it was 70 degrees and cloudy outside. I broke a lot of fishing line cutting the badges off, but with a little persistence it was no problem at all.

I'll get pics up...soonish. Probably a few days. I'll be starting a build thread.

    YGPM.

In the same vein as this, if anyone is looking to get rid of their V6 badge from the tailgate, I'd like to take it off your hands...PM me.

    Don't use it anymore.

All these products say "test on an inconspicuous area" for a reason. I went with Windex because it's relatively gentle and got the job done.

As for restoring your clearcoat lustre, a good wash, dry, and re-application of wax or sealant followed by a good buffing will probably get you back where you want to be with little or no noticeable problem.

Just got my emblems in from Hong Kong. I ordered a grill and two large TRD emblems. I already mounted the grill one using blue loctite and just over finger tight. I need to wait until tomorrow to install the other two emblems as it's been a full day in the garage cleaning and organizing and I'm beat.

There is a damn field mouse in there and he's a sly one. Thought I got rid of him 2 weeks ago. Well now that it's cleaned up there is no place to hide so I think he's gone but who knows could have found a spot in a wall.

I'll post photos once they are installed and I've waxed the truck. Trying System One for the first time.

This will be my first mod. I am going to try a "gun metal grey" color badge on my black Taco. I will test out and old Texas Tech emblem that was taken off my old vehicle before I remove my Taco emblems. That way I know I like the color combo.

    Very nice.

Contrast is key in a good looking truck. Too many people have too much black without anything to break it up. You don't want busy looking (too many people have that too), but you do want a light/dark method playing off one another.

I think that came out great! Like Jandrews said, you've got to have contrast and you pulled it off. That looks like a very smooth paint job too. I like the fact you have a silver edge around it.

    Good job.

I've heard Goo Gone is fine, but Goof Off will do damage... not sure how true that is though...

Finally ready... They're painted and the 3M tape is on the back (which was about the most tedious process EVER). It'll be tonight or this weekend...
