oh ok. well that sucks i tride to use some other adhesive stuff but yah i painted one decal and i just got done takeing everything of including three coats of paint that i did last night so future reference dont use loctite high performance spray adhesive its not right. lol

LOL thats what I was think and then I just thought that we are from the east coast and didn't have a checkers auto parts store.

oh ok never heard of it but i jus called auto zone they said they had the kinda same thing but its made by rustoleum have you heard of thast at all?

its called rustoleum plastic primer and all they have is white

That will do it. It's basically the same thing. It doesn't matter what color it is as long as you paint over it.

 

how many coat do you recomend over it?

 

I'm thinking about making some aluminum decals for my truck, do you think the tape would get a good hold?

 

the tape says will hold five pounds so i think it would IMO

 

yeah, i thought so. I just wasnt sure if it would make a good bond with the aluminum

 

The only place in my area that had it was Advanced Auto Parts.

 

I just followed the directions on the back of the can. It worked out well.

 

So here's my problem... Used the adhesion promoter (2 or 3 coats) then used the Krylon Fusion Gloss Black (5 coats maybe). My front toyota emblem has bubbles and it's completely dried. What could this be caused from? Not letting dry between coats? I probably waited 3 or 4 minutes between each Krylon coat. Could it be painting in excessively humid or hot conditions?

 

These two reasons. I would say chip it off but that's gonna be hard. Might be going on ebay and buying a new one.

 

Soaking it in Goof Off worked the first time, it was a freaking mess though. I may just leave it and live with imperfection. Looks kind of cheap though. I probably sprayed it while it was about 95 degrees. Not sure what the humidity was. May try to strip it if I just can't live with it and then recoat after an hour instead of 3 to 4 minutes. May also wait til it cools off into the fall.

 

Just follow the directions on the can. I believe they are 10 min coats. I think you should wait for a cooler day or paint them inside.
