Well I decided to start a build thread.

    2002 Tacoma TRD

    CURRENT:

    Progression:

Bought it was 100k Miles and it was mint.

Kept it how it was for a few months then moved back to Colorado when I got out of the Army.

Found a Topper when i got back... $100 bones color basically matched and just missing a side window. I got a piece of plexiglass and replaced it

Went to the Colorado Toyota Jambo... I just wheeled wheeler lake and knew that i needed armor asap
    [IMG]

Look what I won at the Jambo Raffle!!!

Built some sliders with my buddy.

Got an Addicted Offroad Bumper from Scotty up in Fort Collins.... i needed something to put my winch in
    [IMG]

Fooling around up on tin cup pass
    [IMG]

Stopped by Toytec and grabbed these.

    Built a rear bumper.

Good thing i didn't have my old bumper on
    [IMG]

    Wheeled the 2015 Jambo

Sold my topper for some dumb reason then went to crested butte during xmas

Got another topper, did some spring wheeling

Would you looky here.. Decided to design my basic rack today and pick up the metal. I took the dimensions from the Tuff Stuff RTT I ordered and created a rack (Much like box rockets) to hold the tent.
My plan is to run the rack in the summer and the topper in the winter since Colorado it loves to snow.

With my measurements the tent should sit even with the cab of my truck... Or atleast close. I will have to measure the real size of the tent when it gets here to determine the height.

The plan is the build the rack next weekend when the tent gets here.image.jpg

Got some welding done ... Finished the main part of the rack......

    Tomorrow I should have it ready for paint! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
Pro tip take some wire and wrap it around your ground... You will never have issues with grounds again

Got 90% done with the rack!!! So excited to see the tent on my truck. I will be adding a highlift mount and some tabs to the rack... Then grinding down the top welds on the rack and painting it!!

Rack done and installed... I will prob add a fire extinguisher and maybe a shovel and ax mount opposite the holiday mount but we will see.

Now I just need someone to come over and help me put the rtt on!

It was fairly easy to build... the arms from the bed rail to the rack was the most difficult part ... if the rack was smaller (its 48x48") you could maybe just make 2 angled cuts rather than the multiple cuts and my crazy cardboard template lol

Yeah I've made 3D models of one but haven't gotten my hands dirty of trying to make one/plan it out
