Have you spoken to the Toyota Regional rep yet and explained that the dealership doesn't want to perform warranty work for an issue you have identified?

That asshole is the one who has already illegally denied a warranty repair and it was a huge hassle to just have him come over. No thanks, not doing that again.

What's an oil change got to do with my issues? My oil is current with over 3k left before the next change.

I don’t think you understand lemon laws and what a dealer is “legally” obligated to do for you.

I understand that lemon law is completely separate from the dealer. They aren't a part of it. I just want the truck fixed.

Sure, they're not "legally obligated" to look at my truck, but I'm sure they have a contract with Toyota that defines how they handle that sort of thing. After all, it is a Toyota franchise.

This is an out there suggestion, but is possible some funny guy decided to shove some stick on weights on your driveshaft? Got any enemies? That would create a massive rotational imbalance and cause what you are describing. Also, it would be wise to have your U-joints checked and the carrier bearing as well for excessive slop.

You may want to have your wheel bearings checked as well. If you are 4X4 you may have an axle issue.

I'm pretty low key, no enemies. Vandalism around here consists of cars getting keyed, nothing sophisticated like that. I think it's some driveline thing that's not related to the wheels too, but you can't reason with some people. I'm going to go to another dealer, and if that's a no go, Toyota can take it back like this. Screw it. Not going out of my way to fix this.

If there is anything I have learned in all my years of wrenching it is that work on your vehicle is best left done to yourself in some instances sometimes. If you are novice then now would be a great time to start getting your hands dirty and experimenting. Not only will you learn a lot, but you will also become a little more in tune with the intricacies of your truck.

Dealers can handle the customers, especially difficult ones, at their own discretion. It sounds like you are having a problem differing between idealistic and realistic worlds.

    Take a deep breath.

Put stock wheel and tire set up on. Have them diagnose the truck.

What you are experiencing is not uncommon across all brands. I had a similar issue on our old JK due to aftermarket wheels and tires. Put the stockers on it and did not take it back in....as the problem disappeared once the stockers went back on. It was a tire balancing issue that was not addressed despite three trips to Discount Tire.

Had the same issue on my 06 2500. Put the stockers on it and had a steering rack issue properly handled under warranty.

Some dealers will look at it anyway, but remember that despite what you think, and despite how unfair you may feel it is, they can take the stand they're taking.

So either return it to stock, diagnose it another way, or sell the truck. But getting upset about it and venting about it here is apt to end in frustration. It's a matter of time before some shitposter hops in here and makes it his goal to drive you batshit.

According to your posts, you have had nothing but issues with this truck, right? Man, I would have spent a few thousand and dumped the thing years ago, like a did my CR-V. Not worth the head aches & your time which is valuable, but too each there own.

It doesn't matter what wheels or tires you had on if they were not balanced or your tires were crap, that is what causes it. It is real simple to eliminate driveline if you have an auto. Get to 70 and put it in neutral. If your vibration goes way completely, it is drive line. Otherwise fix your wheels and tires first. It sounds like that is the only thing you have changed so that is usually where the problem is. Stop thinking it is something else and wasting your dealers time.

To be perfectly honest with you, if you carry the same attitude into the shop that you have here when people have given you solid advice, I wouldn't be shocked if someone slapped and extra stick or two of weights on the inside just for fun.

I have had issues with my local dealer too. I will not buy from them again. If the next one is the same, I will probably buy something else next time.

Can someone near OP swap stock wheels for the day so he can get his truck looked at?

If the truck is being lemon lawed, why are you surprised that they won't fix it. Isn't the whole point of the lemon law to help when vehicles can't be fixed?
