    hey all,

Soo I have my 2010 Tacoma getting a frame swap at the dealership and they are Gona put in a lift kit, nothing to fancy but they Wana charge me labor on it, so first question, does anyone have experience with this, I shouldnt have to pay labor I think for something the dealership is required to do anyway, it's not like I'm asking for them to go out of there way, plus they were the ones that kept asking if I wanted the kit, has anyone had the swap and not had to pay labor? Also second question, I got a phone call today that they need to replace the steering shaft because it was "no good" but then he said it's gonna be 400 dollars and there was no way around it because they have to cut the old one out. That seems like a load of bull to me, should I argue this... It seems like that's alot for a part that's so small and I could probably switch out myself... But if it was that bad and they had to cut it out it should fall under the frame recall due to rust I would think... Anyone have any thoughts or advice

    Thanks all

If they didn't discuss any extra work prior with you, it's on them. Unless you gave them prior permission to do other work. Atleast that would be my argument.

All we talked about was the lift not the steering, so should I argue that

I would start there, but be respectful.

So I got the labor removed for the part but he said the mechanic said the steering didn't feel like it should, the return wasn't right when he drove it and they snapped a bolt removing it so now I'm paying for the 400 dollar whole steering column because they broke a bolt, I asked them together a manager call me because that sounds like a fault on their end not mine

Im worried about my frame getting done here soon. I have read good and bad. I will for sure make sure that I record and document all conversations going on. I think its crazy they are making people bay for seized bolts that are rusted on. I will probably have some work done such as a belt and pump just because its that time but nothing crazy. The only thing Im considering is a new leaf pack.

They are only charging me 200 for labor doing the lift so I'm not to worried about that honestly, saves me some hassle, if it were alot I would definitely do it myself tho
