    Straight outta 'Jersey! :)

You might want to add to that put a 5 pound bag of sugar down the service manager's gas tank and if you have an extra horse head laying around...

Good luck,in Canada no one will ever get a new vehicle for service problems or warranty. That idea would have anyone at a dealership laugh in your face. Can you picture walking into your dealer and with a straight face asking for a cheque for $40,000.00.Good luck bud.

How can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you don't know the difference between 'accept' and 'except'? Seriously?

Just push for the extended warranty. If you want to try and be greedy, ask for other perks like % off accessories.

The "new engine" ain't gonna happen without physical evidence of damage. I would press Toyota for a 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty with zero deductable. It's a very reasonable demand given the circumstances, and much more likely to happen. The dealership and Toyota are much more likely to take you seriously and work with you if your demand is of appropriate measure. I would also be inclined to file a complaint with the BBB if you meet any resistance.

Personally, I wouldn't want any dealer or shop to replace the engine in my new truck. They're more likely to screw something else up in the process.

Asking for the extended warranty is the best route. You'll likely never get a new engine for something "small" like this incident. It didn't blow up, and there's basically no evidence of damage. People make mistakes, and a reasonable solution would be an extended warranty. If the thing doesnt have issues by the 100k mile mark, then it's probably fine.

I personally wouldn't want the engine disassembled for a more detailed inspection. I'm a firm believer in leaving an engine as intact as possible with regard to block/heads/intake mainfold, etc. I'd rather that thing stay sealed up unless there's a repair to be made.

I do find a lot of these "i would drive it til it blows" responses funny. No one in their right mind would do that and take the chance that it wouldn't be rectified in a timely manner (if rectified at all). There's a certain degree of personal responsibility that has to be taken in situations like these, and especially when you owe a third party $30,000. Warranties aside, the dealership doesn't own that truck anymore.

i would ask for an extended warranty, and be done with it.

them popping a few covers wont illuminate any possible damage. i cant believe the motor didnt sound different when it was started without any added oil. i watched my friend do it, and it was a clackity ruckus.

The V6 doesn't have hydraulic lifters...your friends probably did so without oil pressure they collapse and clackity ruckus ensues.

Sorry nothings really happened Toyota Canada hasn't called me back yet but they verbally said the extended warranty shouldn't be a problem. Trucks driving normally this week now 250km. Without evidence of damage I doubt anything other than warranty will happen. I wish they would have called me back by now. They might be waiting on the oil analysis they were sending out.
