Give the dealership a chance. At least they are trying to make good.

Two years ago, I bought a new 2010 Camry SE as a third car. On it's first oil change, I was in the waiting room of the service department and I started hearing a lot of yelling. I went out to see my service manager laying into one of the "express lube" techs. When things calmed down, I asked my SM what happened and he said, "The tech creased your hood because he left a damn tool under the hood when he closed it." I was like "Fuck!"

The dealership replaced the hood within the day and I saw the tech get fired on the spot. My SM said this guy had had one too many chances and the Operations Manager canned his ass right there and then. Evidently, this tech had a habit of being a major screw-up.

Morale of the story is that any employee who ends up costing his company $$$ unnecessarily, especially through carelessness, is only marking time. Eventually, the business will see the employee as a liability and toss them out on their ass. Maybe the guy who fucked up your rims will be getting a pink slip soon.

    Good luck with the repair.

They probably used some aluminized putty like JB Weld or Devcon, then sanded smooth and repainted. I am just surprised the labor cost is still less than the dealer cost of a new wheel.

Yea, they weld the chips gouges, then file it smooth then recoat the entire rim to match if done right.

The dealership tried to fix the rims. Im guessing the rim guy wasnt all that great cause it looked like he just took silver spray paint to my wheels. The dealership is now replacing all 4 of my wheels. Problem fixed!!!!
