Just debadged and I could still see the outline of the letters. Im guessing this is from sun exposure? any suggestions? thanks

No thats all gone thanks to some goof off.. its actually shaded differently and im guessing its where the sun has hit everywhere but under the badge and then when its removed its not as faded. not real noticable but curious if anyone had had this issue?

I just de-badged mine like 3 months ago, it is an 05, and after 5 years of sun on it there wasn't any fading. im not sure what to tell you on that

Mine is the same way on the tailgate. I just buffed and waxed, and it's hardly noticeable now. The doors were fine though.

I actually scratched mine up pretty bad trying to get my badges off with a spatula lol... Polish fixed it up. I had some areas where I could tell where the badges were and the Polish fixed that also.

I used "Meguiar's Ultimate Compound". It took a little work, but it was worth it.

Yeah so.. apparently I'm not the smartest of individuals lol...

But it was a plastic spatula and I thought it would be easier than further abusing my thumb. I managed to jam some of the glue under my nail.. not fun lol...

Ah hell don't worry about it, we've all been there.
Honestly it doesn't sound like a horrible idea, just like a bigger version of a plastic razor blade.
At least it wasn't a metal spatula, then the angry mob would be out to get ya. :D

THey seem to put those decals on when the paint is very fresh. My truck is silver so it would be hard to see some discoloration. But if I get down really close, I can see the "dents' in the paint from where it was applied before it was super hard. If it were very very early on, it might leave the clear coat foggy. Or you tore it off with the clear coat.

OR you didn't get all the adhesive off.

Did you use automotive adhesive remover, not to be confused with "goo gone" (whatever that's supposed to do) or wd40.

Seems pretty pronounced. Strange. I would guess you've got a lot of adhesive still on there.
