Debadging & tailgate wrapping

All you need is fishing line and your thumb. A rubbing compound will get rid of any sticky leftovers.

 

Pretty sure it says right on the can that it can harm paint

 

I used fishing line and a hair dryer. Would've used a stronger test if I'd had any, think I was using 12 or 15 lb test, broke a lot. I used some Goo-gone but it was the all natural stuff, they were sold out of the normal but it worked awesome. Washed with dawn, clay barred, and waxed. Truck was 5 years old and the paint looks perfect. Used a little scratch remover, just because.

The last picture on the last page is Goof Off, DON'T USE THAT! That stuff is made for taking off paint. GOO GONE disolves adhesive, shouldn't hurt the clear coat any.

It said it could be harmful to "some types of paint". Of course I noticed that AFTER the fact. I'm well aware of my idiotic move. The reason for posting was for a "What not to do" lesson for anyone else that was thinking about using "Goof Off" not Goo-Gone. I'm going back out to the garage so I can continue apologizing to my truck.
